i don't mean to sound too off topic, but don't they usually get pissy when things like this are actually making a benefit? i mean a-m-v.org uses the money to keep the servers up, if anything they aren't benefitting at all, in fact the music that is being played, if you like the song you'll obviously want to hear more we're practically advertising.... Sorry that was prolly way off topic...

WHOA! Where did this come from all of a sudden? I guess it just proves that mainstream labels really are tight-assed about all their copyrighting (but understandable).
Folks, do what I did - find "musical artists" that actually LOVE your AMVs ~ and link it on their official band sites (such as KAMELOT)! Ok, that's tooting my horn abit but all is not lost. (yet?)

F'in bastards.. I buy there freakin' music so I could use it on AMVs. No more.. I've lost respect for them if there going to attack fan made videos. Umm where is the info on them finding out about the org and being mad about it? It's funny how anime companies don't care that we're doing this but those bastard sell outs are.. for shame. :shakes head:

That's what personal/studio websites are for, which you can link to in your Org profile or video info page. Actual video links may have been disabled, but no one's stopping you from linking elsewhere to a website that hosts such videos (and let's hope it stays that way).genestarwind21122 wrote:But videos that you have spent months on are now not going to able to be displayed. You willn't be able to show off your work unless you submit it to contests. Then how are people suppost to get a hold of your work because they liked it. What if it was one of your videos and it ended up doing well in a contest and then people weren't able to get it and it would limited to people at the contest who got to see it.
I don't intend to stop offering my own Evanescence video at the Aquiline website, unless I get served withmy own C&D order.
You may have been joking, but if I could compose, I would totally be doing this. You really don't need that much equipment these days to be able to make electronic music.genestarwind21122 wrote:Or make up your own instrumental music on your computer.
Why would that be such a bad thing? For three years now, I've been under the impression that there's quite a substantial AMV trade on P2P networks. They seem to be rather popular items whenever I share them (mostly other people's, of course), and I usually don't have trouble finding others who are sharing others I haven't seen.JaddziaDax wrote:heaven forbid we go to p2p companies to transferr them...
Like I said above, you can always put them on a personal/studio website.JaddziaDax wrote:plus for some of my videos handeling a 10-40 download per week, might be a little rough on my AIM especially when I have to share my computer with other members. o.0

I was actually serious about that. Anyways I have to upgrade my website anyways, but for now it looks like YouSendIt.Scintilla wrote:genestarwind21122 wrote:You may have been joking, but if I could compose, I would totally be doing this. As i mentioned on the other thread, It's foolish to think that this record label will keep their knowledge of the org private. If they have a parent company and are taking legal advice insomuchas having a cease and desist order created and delivered, they are most likely going to inform at least their parent company (assuming such a company exists -- baring that, any business assiciates they are on good terms with might suffice) . From there, they might feel that they need to tell others, or their parent company (or any affilates) may feel this way. If the whole "this is what must be done to protect your copyright" argument is legit (i'm not a legal scholar by any means, so i don't know) any other record label must then do the same thing that this one has done (at the very least).
