I found 3x3 Eyes to be bloody at certain times. You'll occasionally see a limb dismembered.

I completely forgot about that one. That show was a friggin blood bath.

One word: Guyver. Well I've only seen the first 3 episodes but they were pretty gory at times.

The Devilman OVAs have some pretty quality bloody moments to them (although you might have to go import to get 'The Apocalypse of Devilman'...for carnage though, worth at least a viewing)

(Nothing says 'Family entertainment' like Amon wolfing down a little girl demon's torso to the shock and horror of everyone else watching (said looks accompanied by some nice snapping and chewing sounds.))

The first goreist anime i seen was elfen lied! *quivers* i still have those nasty images in my head eyuck lol hmm and from wat ive seen rurouni kenshin ..... or samauri x is pretty damn gorey.
