You should probably check out Boogiepop Phantom. A completely unique and very dark piece of work that keeps you glued to the screen every minute of all twelve episodes. The dramaturgy resembles that of movies like Magnolia or Playing by Heart, except the way it's executed makes it a lot more interesting. Episode five contains a truly classic scene that recurs several times and is one of my top fifteen favorite scenes of all time, counting both anime and movies. Without spoiling anything; it contains the memorable line "Hey, Tanaka, haven't we had this conversation before?"

By the way, is RahXephon worth checking out?

I cant figure out how Elfen Lied resulted in you wanting to watch something "mature and serios".

Hey, for the newer generation of anime fans, Elfen Lied is a really good series in order to bridge to some other series that's more mature. C'mon, with the look of the bishoujo designs, I bet nobody expected it to be violent as hell.

If mature and serious = violent and dark then I recommend Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade. It's a movie.

Would you care to elaborate on the subject? Like telling us why it's not good? 8-)

Do a search for rahxephon and specify me as the user. You'l find a few paragraphs deitailing why the anime is so damn horrible.

Sorry about my earlier comment.

RahXephon is good to me... I enjoyed watching it especially the art and animation. I think maybe bum doesn't like it because he thinks it copies eva or something.
