If God was an admin here you would be banned for breaking his laws of gravity.
Not really. If you read the book, Niven has the physics of the ringworld worked out very well. The question of a material strong enough, and finding enough material is the hard part.

Another very interesting book by Niven, The Integral Trees, would be great. A society of people living in free fall, in a gas tourus around a binary star system. If you like scifi anime, you might like reading some of these books.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

and the Niven discussion has put an idea (albeit indirectly) into mind...

With the right director, an anime take on Terry Pratchett's Discworld series could likely turn out pretty well (...rather off the wall, but that's nothing new for anime.)

Hmmm, I believe Gainax made an adaption to that known as Nadia.
Ahhhhh! Will have to look for that, looks like there is a movie available on DVD (Secret of the Blue Water). :D

Fred Sabarhagen's Sword Serries. Any book about swords of power created by the gods to be used as peices in their games with humanity would make for some great shows.

This the core about why I think Terry Goodkinds Sword of Truth series could quite possibly make an awesome anime. By the way...love your quote!

This is a Japanese novel but I'd like to see Hiroyuki Morioka's Seikai no Senki IV book made into an anime. They made his other books into anime series (Crest of the Stars, Banner of the Stars, etc.), so it would be nice if they would keep going and anime Banner of the Stars IV, especially for those of us who are unable to read Japanese (like myself).

The 'Broken Sky' series would make for some good anime. The books themselves were intended for younger audiences, but I bet it could do well as anime series for any age.

Neil Giaman's American Gods[/u], True it's a Book that is all about the U.S, but I think the imagery and characters would fit right in as really good disturbing anime.

Allways glad to see someone that recognizes that. I definitly agree with Terry Goodkinds works and would like to add The Death Gate Cycle by Magret Weis and Tracey Hickman, along with the Shanara Serries by Terry Brooks

Harry Potter should be made into an anime. That would be cool. It should be an anime with high quality animation and pretty images. ^-^
