Please tell me you're being sarcastic and you aren't actually that clueless...Rurounikeitaro wrote:Hey! I can make some good stuff! If only they'd ask me to make the plots for American cartoons

Wow people get into it with this subject.
True enough I would call anime a style.
As with all styles it is influenced by other factors as I said before culture and Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse (big eyes).
I will say this as an addition since someone brought up the definition of anime.
There could be an American Anime if it were culturely and artistically in tune with the animation style and the standard array of topics that fit within the definition of anime.
However, I've yet to see a single show that comes even close. Anybody know of one?

Actually, even some of the "American Anime" isn't even American. Totally Spies and that horror/mystery show that was on Nickelodeon for a week are French. I read about it in an Animation magazine a few years back...

It's the episode where beast boy gets a job so he can get a moped. And the Titans are after aliens who are capturing cows. Next to the Nosyarg Kcid (a.k.a. Larry, the extra dimensional kid who popped out of Robin's head, which I'll assume is just a coincidence, and not a nod to Naota's N.O.) and Mad Mod episodes, it's one of the weirdest TT episodes.
The moped happens to look almost exactly like Haruko's Vespa 180-SS. Except it's white, and the "P!" is now a "T!" Then, once BB is riding said mopen, he wears a helmet that looks like Haruko's (with the T!/P! change), along with an outfit very similar to Haruko's. Basically, Beastboy parodies Haruko that episode.
Oh, and if people haven't guessed yet, I say anime is just the style.
