The first of Kia Asamiya's work I ever saw was "Martian Successor Nadesico", which was back in 2001. I discovered it through an AMV I saw. When I watched the first DVD, I thought the show was so awesome! Then in 2004, I discovered "Steam Detectives", and when I first saw it, I thought it was good, but I slowly got hooked the more episodes I saw of it. I was surprised to find out it was created by the same guy who made Nadesico! Steam Detectives is one of my top, favorite animes, and it's sad I don't see enough people on forums talk about it. Kia Asamiya's great. Narutaki's the cutest child detective ever, Ling Ling, Lang Lang, Minato and Yurika are hot babes, LeBled's a cool looking villian, Ruri Hoshino is hilarious, Akito Tenkawa's funny and awesome, Jun Aoi is overlooked, and Gai Daigojui (sp?) is timeless!!!! I still haven't seen "Silent Mobius", and I still haven't read the Batman comic he made called "Child of Dreams". Speaking of Batman, Steam Detectives reminds me of Batman. I heard once that Kia Asamiya said he wanted to make an environment similar to Gotham City. Plus I think the characters in Steam Detectives can be compaired to Batman characters:
Crimson Scorpion=Cat Woman
LeBled=The Riddler
Dr. Guilty=The Joker
Inspector Yagami=Commishioner James Gordon
Just some examples
I also made a shitload of Steam Detectives AMVs featuring songs from the two soundtrack albums to the 1989 Batman movie (Prince's soundtrack and Danny Elfman's film score). I like every single one of 'em. Back around late '04/early '05, I REALLY wanted to make a Steam Detectives and Batman crossover fanfic, but I never did, because I couldn't think of a good name for it, and I'm not sure if I want to do it anymore. And finally, if I hadn't seen Nadesico OR Steam Detectives, I would've never discovered these FANTASTIC voice actors that I LOVE:
Spike Spencer
Brett Weaver
Tiffany Grant
Kelly Manison
Josh Meyer
Gray Haddock
Larissa Wolcott

The characters in Steam Dectectives actually compare more favorably to characters from the Sherlock Holmes books and movies, with a good mixing with Batman.
I liiked what I have read of Dark Angel and Silent Moebius, I'd recommend the manga for Silent Moebius over the anime in fact, although the anime isn't bad, it doesn't have a conclusive ending.

Silent Mobius is one of the best buys in anime TV series.EvaXephon wrote:Ah, Silent Mobius, that brings back some memories. I liked it, and I've been meaning to check out the manga.
