Which Anime series should i get next?

Post by JunUSMC » Wed Jan 11, 2006 6:28 pm

I've seen many anime shows, and i have been wondering which anime series i should get next? I have been thinking about The X series by Clamp, but it seems to have some Yaoi stuff that i don't care for. I was also thinking of getting Bleach, but im not quite sure yet, and would like some more info from people to make a decision on this. Im looking for a type of action, comedy anime, but also some good thrillers. Slayers was a great comedic anime that i really enjoyed and would like to know if there are any other good animes like this out there. I already have animes like Kenshin,DBZ, and plan to get Naurto later, but i don't really know any other good action animes out there. Then there are the thriller, type mysterious im not talking about lain or Boggiepop Phatom type stuff, but some type of Hitchcock/Twlight zone type anime.

Thanks in advance.

well if you want a buttkicking action anime with some mystery thrown in... I think Bleach is the way to go. (It gets fairly mysterious later on, despite it's shortcomings on originality) And it can definitely keep you entertained with humor in the first season at least. (it tones down in the second season, but it's still there)

If your gonig for the thriller but minus boogiepop and lains bs, go with Paranoia Agent. Lots of mystery, a really deep story, and it can be enjoyed simply on the level that there's a kid on rollerblades beatting people with a baseball bat. Good stuff no matter how you look at it.

For anime withmystery, action and thriller, I would recomend Noir. Young female assasins, one with no identity, underworld syndicates, plots within plots, this one has a lot going for it.

For lots of humor in an action anime, try Full Metal Panic. The origional has giant robots, military crazy guys, cute girls, terrorist and anti terrorist groups, one super high tech submarine, and the mystery of the "whispered". The second season Fumoffu does away with any attempt at plot and goes for twelve episodes of all out fun.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

Sorcerer Hunters would be a good show in the same vein.

How about Daiguard? A good mech show. Kind of an Eva parody too. It has action, drama, comedy, and more.
