I need an idea for my Media Studies class

I told my teacher about what I do, and he said I can make an AMV instead of a slideshow. I have no ideas though! please help me. Here's the list of all the anime I have:

What exactly is your assignment, and what do you need from us? A song? A concept?

Maybe just some sort of introductory - This is Anime - kinda video. There's a nice instrumental song "Pompeii" - by E.E. Posthumous, I believe that might be good.

Perhaps showing animes uniquness and using the best scences of each anime to comprise what anime means to you. Maybe you can explain it in person or by using subtitles if you have the time and software.

I'd pick NGE, Rahx or Animatrix and i stay away from Excel Saga. You don't want too much "culture" shock.

The blathantly obvious religious and psychological referances and images in NGE would do great in such an assignment, i believe. I woud be able to help alot better if i knew just how advanced this has to be

Well, what we were originally supposed to do was to make a slideshow using various pictures, so I guess you can say it's an assignment. It doesn't have to be special, I just find this easier then going through my dad's computer looking for computer.

But I like that NGE idea, I just need a song though...

You could always use an instrumental, even something classical that is easily recognizable by everyone (even the teacher - lol). That also lends itself nicely to showing off the anime more than the music.

If i've understood your sig, Metallica's "My Friend of Misery" would be a good choise for a simple NGE vid. It won't be hard to make and the point can be as deep as you want it to be, as long as you use the visuals right. The more i think of the lyrics the more i like the idea ("They say the empty can rattles the most" fits Asuka pretty good).

I'll try to think of any Rock songs that might fit the bill.

That idea with classical music is a good bet, though.
