2005...the year in which I screwed around. The videos I produced reflect that.
I started making AMVs in 2005...didn't join the org until late in the year. Churned out 6 vids...most of which I'm happy with (given my level of experience and software at the time). But I also learned a LOT...such as:
1) Fraps is evil.
2) Take a break from editing to shower and clean the house
3) Good AMVs take at least a month or more to make
4) Obsessing over details is a good thing
5) Don't be afraid to try the effects in your editor...there's always the "Undo" option.
I also attended my first con in 2005 - and the vids I produced actually did well and earned some honorable mentions.
For 2006...
My goals are to expand and push myself even more AMV-wise. I plan to attend more cons, enter more contests, and strive to make the vids the best they can be. As of right now, I have about 8 or 9 concepts I'd like to explore...but I doubt highly that they'll all come to reality. Right now, if I can just finish the vid that I've been working on for the last 3 months, I'll consider it an accomplishment.
