Jeff Thompson – May he always be remembered

I know this news may be a little old, but it has just been brought to my attention. Jeff Thompson, the man who directed the English dubs of “Boogiepop Phantom” and "Irresponsible Captain Tylor," passed away on January 13, 2006, just days after attending and helping to run Ohayocon.

Over the past several years, I have spent many hours with Jeff at conventions, attending his panels and laughing at his jokes, but this year Jeff was my Ohayocon. He had two scheduled panels on voice acting this year, and made special arrangements just for me and a handful of fellow fans to have a small panel of our own. I will never forget the look on Jeff’s face when my friend Rex tried to do the voice of Kano (from Kare Kano) during a script reading; Jeff nearly spit his coffee out onto the floor!

At least we all know that one of the last things Jeff participated in was one of his favorite activities, speaking and interacting with his fans and friends. I will greatly miss Jeff, and I wish his family the best in the days and weeks ahead. You can learn more and help his family at the following websites:

Wow. What an honor to meet a voice actor. You're pretty lucky. I know you'll miss him.

Actually he was a director, but he could do a few pretty good voices as well.

oh, my god, i do enjoy "Irresponsible Captain Tylor", though the people in it don't look beautiful. but the stroy is really interesting and charming...
sorry for sad news...
