In the late 1800s, there was a gentleman-thief who lived in Paris named Arsene Lupin (this part was based on a novel written in the first half of the century of the same name). Years later, he had a son, and then a grandson. Enter Arsene Lupin III, thief-extraordinare like his grandfather, though nowhere near as gentlemanly. Along with his right-hand-man, Jigen Daisuke (an American who flead the Chicago Mob and moved to Japan, changin his name), he travels the globe stealing the world's rarest, strangest, and most valuable items. Two others who often "help" the pair are Goemon Ichikawa XIII, named for the legendary Goemon of long-ago Japan and sporting a katana made from a material sharp enough to cut through even tough metals, and Mine Fujiko, a female thief/conartist/practicer of every deadly sin and then some, who makes Lara Croft look flat, and is the object of many of Lupin's "advances" (ie, jumping out of all his clothes except the boxers, copping feels, etc.), a fact she abuses often to swindle Lupin out of something she wants. Hot on all four's tails, though mainly Lupin's, is inspector Zenigata, a former Tokyo investigator after Fujiko who, when he encountered Lupin, transferred to Interpol, and now globe-hops as the world's premier Lupin-tracker.

Not exactly. Geneon's dub for the second Lupin the III TV series uses Media Concepts (though I heard they "contemporized" the script). Castle of Cagliostro is done by Animaze which uses a different cast (though I heard this was the best Lupin dub thanks to David Hayter's performance as Lupin). Some of the Lupin specials are done by FUNimation with their VAs.
David Hayter, like the Metal Gear Solid David Hayter? Doing Lupin? Not with the same gravel eating voice, am I correct? That's be just wierd...

The very same...he's actually done a number of diff. anime dubs (...and, oddly, everyone I've heard him in, rather than a gruff voice, he's had a relatively care-free nice guy (even if the characters aren't always) voice) (remembering him as Lupin in Castle of Cagliostro, Bernie Wiseman in Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket, and Fourth in They Were Eleven)

do you all remember that episode when they brought Inspector Clouseau in to stop Lupin? They totally ripped off the Pink Panther with that one, though it was a pretty funny episode.

I seen that episode. Though it would be funny if he actually went around trying to say "Ambougier"

I certainly enjoy the manga more than the anime, but Lupin is a very amusing series. It doesn't have the best art, but it doesn't matter because it's got plenty of story. <33

I don't have a favorite character, really, either. o.o;

Man, it's been a while since I've actually read it. o.o;
