Looking for Premiere Tutorials

Post by Maguma » Wed Feb 01, 2006 10:47 pm

Im trying to find some good premiere tutorials, I have seen amvs with cropped Stock images, and also cropped moving images,

Example, a scene of maybe Yoh from shaman king runing, but he's been cut out from the original scene and pasted onto something else,

How do you do that?

also how do you do text in Premiere?

and finally, are there places to download filters and such?

The answer to most of these are "you don't." For rotoscoping/image masking you use After Effects or Photoshop. Text can be done externally in Photoshop and imported as an image.

you /can/ mask in premiere and you /can/ do text in premiere...

masking is a pain in the ass...

text is easy.. there is a title feature in 6.5+...

BUT the best way to do it would be to do the text in photoshop.

Yes, you're right you can. It's just a lot easier to not. Hell, you probably /can/ saw off an arm with a butter knife, but the bone saw works a lot faster and cleaner.

ok, i understand masking and such but if i want to select a single character and only show that character and his movements but NOTHING else is moving, would that fall under Layer Mask?

True, but then you miss out on half the fun.
