Well, that's what I mean. Lots of times, even when lip sync is contextually appropriate, it simply feels silly.Scintilla wrote:Well, that wasn't so much because there was lip synch as because of just what the characters (read: Gendo) were being made to say.Flint the Dwarf wrote:Like this. But lots of people laughed at the lip sync in that video at Otakon, and I guess I can understand why.

Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

I think people will try to use lip sync in comedy since it might help solidify the connection to the character. I mean, when you have the voice of Golum paired up with a perverted high school teacher, it makes the duality between the two characters more hilarious.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Lip sych for comedic purposes is generally pandering to the lowest common denominator, and therfor deplorable.
Its my instinct to think that the creator has sinsister and manipulitive motives when doing this but 5 years of con experience has proven that generally, said creator is part of the lowest common denominator.
Rofl I could rant about this shit for hours.
