This is what I gethered so far :
ADAMAccording to the Old Testament of the Bible, the Angels are the servants of God. In Japanese, they are called Shitou or Tenshi, which literally means disciple, similar to those of Christ in the New Testament. In Evangelion, Angels are the enemies of mankind. They are powerful, sentient and capable to adopt to different environment. Angels appear in various forms of human (Nagisa Kaoru), bacteria, "Monster", etc. But on the other hand, they are messengers from God to make humankind realise what is their goal to live on, the heart for you.
The First Angel - Of The Red Earth
It was the first Angel that appeared at the south pole and the subsequent cause of the Second Impact. From Episode VIII of the TV series, we see Gendou and Kaji discussing about the specimen called Adam and Kaji said "It's for the Human Complement Program isn't it?" and Gendou replied "Yes it is, Its the first human ADAM". Based on the Old Testament of the Christian Bible, Adam was the first man to be created by God, in his own image.
LILITH
The Second Angel - Of The Black Moon
Lilith is said to be the wife of adam, punished by God to the world. In Evangelion, Lilith is the object we seen many times on the cross. With the lance stabing through its chest, so the legs won't grow. NERV uses Lilith cells to creat parts of Rei Ayanami as well as the L.C.L luquid. Lilith wares a 7 eye mask simbolise the formation of 3rd Impact. And Lilith is the one who caused the 3rd Impact after Rei merged inside its body. Rei Ayanami is actually the soul of Lilith and Eva Unit one is cloned from parts of it.
SAKIEL
The Third Angel - Of Water
Sakiel was the first angel to attack Tokyo- 3. This led to Eva-01's first combat activation with new pilot Shinji Ikari. Sachiel can regenerate itself, has a beam weapon which fires into a shape of a cross, and also has a beam saber puncher like weapon in it's hand. Sakiel was destroyed when it self-destructed as Eva-01 was trying to destroy it's core.
SHAMSHIEL
The Fourth Angel - Of The Day
Shamshiel attacked Tokyo-3 not long after the Third Angel was destroyed. It shaped like a floating ship first then transformed into a standing unit. Its main weapon is the energy wipe which can cut through almost everything. It was later destroyed by Shinji in Eva-01 when the progresive knife stabed through its core.
RAMIEL
The Fifth Angel - Of Thunder
Ramiel is a diamond-shaped 'floating fortress'. It has a very strong AT Field and its main weapon is long range mega energy beam. When Unit 01 was first deployed, the beam melted Eva 01's chest plate and almost went through the EVA. Ramiel attempts to drill its way through NERV using it's diamond energy drill. It has broken 11 of the 13 defence layers before Shinji, protected by Rei, shot through its core using high energy positron rifle.
GAGIEL
The Sixth Angel - Of Fish
Gagiel attacked the Pacific Fleet, which was escorting the new Eva 02 from Germany to NERV Japan. Gagiel is large, around one and a half times the size of an aircraft carrier, and very fast in the water. Its main weapon is the fin on its back which has cut many Pacific Fleet's ships in half. It also uses its jaws. Its core is located in the mouth. It took the combined effort of Shinji, Asuka, and Misato's plan to short range frontal assult the Angel by sinking two battle cruisers to defeat it.
ISRAFEL
The Seventh Angel - Of Music
Israfel has the ability to seperate into two seperate parts. It's main weapon is a light energy laser.First attempt has failed, a succesful second attempt was made, when Shinji and Asuka worked together to defeat it. Ironicaly, Shinji and Asuka beat the Angel by syncronizing their moves, using music. Because the 2 parts of the angel must be defeated at the same time inorder to force it back to its original form. Then to break its core.
SANDALPHON
The Eighth Angel - Of Embryos
Sandalphon was first discovered in the heart of an active volcano in it's embryotic form, and an attempt was made to capture it. During the capture attempt by Asuka, in Eva-02, the embryo hatched into Sandalphon, and the mission profile was changed from capture to destroy. Asuka subsequently destroyed Sandalphon by using Eva-02's diving suit's burst coolant pipe and stuffing it into Sandalphon, freazing it to death.
MATORIEL
The Nineth Angel - Of Rain
Matoriel is the spider-like Angel that attempts to burn it's way through to NERV headquarters using an acid secretion. This Angel has very powerful acid which could burn through everything, but it has a very weak AT Field which was penetrated by EVAs' Machine Gun when 3 EVA worked together.
SAHAQUIEL
The Tenth Angel - Of Sky
Sahaquiel was detected by satellite over the Pacific Ocean. From there it used its AT-Field to distend parts of itself, using them as bombs. After bombing and correcting the bombing pattern, it soon positioned itself correctly and hurled itself down like a bomb over Tokyo 3. The Evangelions were positioned to intercept Sahaquiel using their AT Fields and the 3 managed to destroy the Angel.
IROUL
The Eleventh Angel - Of Fear
Iroul's body had no substance, but possessed other objects, taking control of them. Iroul was found during a synchronization test of the three children, and went on to infiltrate the three super-computers: Melchior, Balthazar and Gaspar. Disaster was averted when Ritsuko Akagi succesfully purged Ireul from the super-computers.
LELIEL
The Twelveth Angel - Of Night
Leliel is the black and white sphere-shaped Angel. It's real form is the shadow beneath the sphere, not the sphere itself. The area of the shadow is called "The sea of Dirac", where the Angel keeps a super-thin space using an inverted AT-Field. Anything in the shadow dissapears inside. Eva-01 was trapped in the shadow, but it went berserk and tore it's way out of the Angel.
BARDIEL
The Thirteenth Angel - Of Hail
While Eva-03 was being delivered to NERV by air, it was taken over by an Angel when the transport fly past the cloud and you see electricity came out of it. This was not discovered until its activation test, where it broke loose and destroyed the test site. Eva 03 was then declared the 13th Angel, Bardiel is the electricity that taken control of Eva 03. All the EVAs set out to destroy Bardiel, who easly took out Rei and Asuka using Eva 03. As Bardiel was about to destroy Eva 01, Gendou Ikari ordered Eva 01's dummy plug activated. Eva 01 then brutally went on to destroy Bardiel against Shinji's will.
ZERUEL
The Fourteenth Angel - Of Might
Zeruel was the Angel closest to accomplishing it's task. Zeruel's "Arms" can extend and are sharp enough to cut off an Evangelion's arm. It's eyes can fire beams, which in one blast, damaged 18 layers of Nerv's shielding. Zeruel was eventually defeated when Eva 01 went berserk and killed Zeruel, and ate it. Zeruel was also the "source" for Eva 01's conversion to a S2 type organ/engine.
ARAEL
The Fifteenth Angel - Of Bird
Arael is the energy-like angel with wings. It was in space, and no conventional weapon could reach it or penetrate its AT-Field. It has telepathic attack and has paralised Asuka. Therefore, it was necessary for Rei to use the Lancea Longini (Spear of Longinus), in Eva 00 to threw the spear, destroying Arael. For UNIT 01 is in crio-stasis.
ALMISAEL
The Sixteenth Angel - Of Womb
Almisael is the energy ring-like angel. It penetrated Eva 00 and tried to infiltrate Eva 01.It made Rei understand what's true feelings of things. It made Rei Ayanami realise that she loves Shinji and sacrificed herself and set Eva 00 on self-destruct, killing herself and taking Almisael with her.
TABRIS/KAORU NAGISA
The Seventeenth Angel - Of Free Will
Kaoru Nagisa, has the strongest AT Field of all the Angels. Kaoru told shinji that a human must experss him/her selfs' true feeling about others.
In Episode 24, Kaoru took over Eva 02 and descended to the lower level in search of Adam. He has reached his goal but only find that the Adam he was seeking was realy Lilith. So when Eva 01 caught up to Kaoru, he allowed Shinji, his only friend, to pop his head off.
HUMANIS
The Eighteenth Angel - Of Life
You now must think I'm stuffed, Humanis seperated from all other angels and lived on this world and known as Humanity. The aim of the human instrimentality program and 3rd Impact is to rebuild this angel. To bring all blocked souls back together as 1 before. Using Human Complement Program to end mankind and evolve into 1 single lifeform, that is the Angel lost long ago.

Mark\Emblem Of NERV
The Secret Agency NERV has a mark which is composed of three parts: the name of the organization, a picture and a motto. The name of the organization is the 4 character word "NERV". The motto is "God is in his heaven. All right with the world" (PY: the Japanese translation of this English motto is given in the original text, which would be pointless to translate back into English
, a section taken from "Pippa Passes", written by a 19th century poet Robert Browning. And then the picture is a half piece of fig leaf. The fig leaf, according to legend, is the symbol of the original sin which entangled Adam and Eve. It reminds us of the human who ate the Fruit of Wisdom. Lilith
A giant crucified on a red cross at the extreme depth under NERV HQ. Its face is covered with a mask which has the Arm of SEELE drawn on it. Its hands are penetrated by nails that are stuck on the cross. Although it does not have the lower body when it was pierced by the Spear of Longinus, it grows its lower body after the Spear was pulled out.
Originally the Human Complementation Plan planned to use this Lilith. However SEELE changed the plan after the Spear was lost, and they attempted to use Eva 01 for Complementation purpose. At that moment, Keel Lorenz says this is "the copy of Lilith". By this it seems that Eva 01 was actually made by copying Adam but used Lilith's cells.
And why can children born 6 months after the second imapct only pilot the eva's ?
Dead Sea Scrolls
Known as URA SHIKAI BUNSHO. A document that seems to be used by SEELE for the direction of their actions. Following what was recorded in "Secret Dead Sea Scrolls", SEELE built EVA and fought the battles against the Angels. It seems that this same document also recorded all invading Angels. By the way, the "Dead Sea Scrolls" as exists in real life was dug out from a cave near the Dead Sea of Israel in 1947. Its contents include the "Old Testament" of Bible and its acryophaea.
Human Complementation Plan
(JINRUI HOKAN KEIKAKU) A plan to induce artificial evolution for human, who had reached an impasse in becoming a colony of worthless, to become a total single-form organism. It was under the direction of SEELE, and the secret agency NERV was the implementation organization. However, the expectations of SEELE seems to be different from the objective of NERV (which means the objective of Gendo and Fuyutsuki).
EVA was in fact not planned as a weapon. It was built with the aim to realize this plan. More specifically, it seems that the plan is to artificially start the Third Impact, thus erasing all human, and after human shed their physical form, they will then evolve into a new stage.
S.C. (Super Computer) MAGI (3 wise men)
A supercomputer whose foundation theory was completed by the late Dr.Akagi Naoko and implemented by her daughter, Dr.Akagi Ritsuko. It is said that MAGI is the brain of the secret agency NERV. It devises, revises and solves many of its mysteries and plans. MAGI is composed of three systems: MELCHIOR-1, BALTHASAR-2 and CASPER-3. Final decision is made after the conference of these 3 computers. This computer is similar to human not just in the sense that it re-creates on a computer the dilemmas usually held by human, it is also similar in the sense that it uses a personality-transplant-OS which has the thought logic pattern of human transplanted to the computer. The thought logic pattern transplanted to MAGI is that of Dr.Akagi Naoko. MELCHIOR-1, BALTHASAR-2 and CASPER-3 has the transplanted thought pattern of Naoko as a scientist, a mother and a woman respectively.
By the way, the name of "MAGI" comes from the name for the three wise men from the east who prophesied the birth of Jesus (PY's note: this seems to be a bit misinforming?) in the New Testament of Bible. MELCHIOR, BALTHASAR and CASPER are their respective names. At the beginning of movie "The End of Evangelion", started from MAGI #2 at Matsushiro, the five builds of MAGI from Germany, USA and China etc. tried to hack into the original MAGI sitting in the NERV HQ.
SEELE
A secret organization that existed even before the Second Impact. It hid the truth about the Second Impact and the existence of Angels and uses its power to abuse UN and other countries. After the Second Impact, it used UN as a cover, established the Committee of Human Complementation and the secret agency NERV, and built the EVA series.
SEELE's Human Complementation Plan is mapped out according to what was recorded on the "Secret Dead Sea Scrolls". The objective of the plan is to move human up to another stage of evolution. However, with the loss of the Spear of Longinus, and then the rebellion of Ikari Gendo, the commander of the secret agency NERV, it became inevitable that the plan has to be changed at the last stage.
SEELE's Coat of Arm
(SEELE no MONSHOU) A coat of arm which has an inverted triangle superimposed by seven eyes. The same emblem was painted on the mask that covered the face of Lilith. Its relationship with Jehovah, who is the absolute God in "Old Testament Bible" and is sometimes said to have seven eyes, is unclear.

The First Impact
This was according to the history book which Shinji and his classmates study. About 65 millions years ago, a massive meteorite from the outer space which impacted at Caribbean Sea had triggered a serious decline in the globe's temperature and created a kind of nuclear winter that drove dinosaurs and other species to extinction. After this heavy impact, Earth took a very long time to recover from this catastrophe. This catastrophe is known as the First Impact.
The Second Impact
This is called so because the catastrophe was the largest since the 1st Impact, 65 million years ago. Another meteorite hit Antarctica, causing the whole continent's ice to melt. There were radical changes in Earth's environment: Floods, Volcanic eruptions and change of Earth's axis etc. These, combined with the civil war on a world scale afterwards, caused half of the world's population to die.
Usually its cause was explained as a massive meteorite fallen on the Markam Mountain in Antarctica. But in fact its cause was artificial: SEELE and Gendo's group reverted Adam, the first Angel, back into embryo before other Angels woke up, and this caused the Second Impact.
The Third Impact
A large-scale catastrophe following the First (Giant) Impact and the Second Impact, as foreseen by human. It had been said that this would be started by from alien Angels who came into contact with Adam stored underground beneath Tokyo-3, and therefore EVA and NERV were there to protect this from happening. However, the truth is that they were there precisely to start the Third Impact, the real objective being the Human Complementation Plan.

What are Evangelions?
The formal name is "General-purpose Humanoid Decisive Combat Weapon - Artificial Human (Adroid) Evangelion" [Hanyou Ninkei Kessen Heiki - Jinzou Ningen Evangelion]. In order to implement the Human Complementation Project, 14 years of time and astronomical amount of money were used to build Evangelion. Being able to deploy A.T.Field as well as neutralize it, it is the only weapon that human have to counter the Angels. It takes its power from electricity and without external supply it can maintain only 5 minutes of activity. Thus usually it takes the electrical power it needs through Umbilical Cable. (EVA from EVA-05 onwards does not need this cable because it has the S² Engine) Originally EVA does not have soul. To have a soul in EVA, EVA-01 had the soul of Igari Yui living in it.
The origin of the name "EVA" was thought to derive from Eve, the wife of Adam, from the "Old Testament" of Bile, and "Evangelic", the English for the gospel.
The Secret of EVA-00
EVA-00 has berserk two times in the TV series. In the first berserk, EVA-00 wants to hit Ikari Gendo who is in 2nd Activation Experiment Laboratory. The Second berserk is also occurred in the same laboratory. But this time, the target is Ayanami Rei. The only person who hates Ayanami Rei and Ikari Gendo is Akagi Naoko because Ikari Gendo had lied to her and Rei-1 is the clone of Ikari Yui. So it seems that Akagi Naoko's soul might be absorbed into EVA-00 after she died and this is also the only way to explain why EVA-00 berserk.
The Secret of EVA-01
(SHOGOKI) EVA-01 TEST TYPE. The first EVA to be thrown into real battle. It is the second EVA, after EVA-00, that was built in EVA HQ. Although it contributes a lot in its participation of many battles against Angels, it also behaves unexpectedly in many occasions: going berserk, starting up without the presence of Entry Plug, staying active after its activity time limit etc. It obtained the S² Engine directly by defeating and devouring the 14th Angel.
Coloring is purple. Dedicated pilot is Third Children -- Ikari Shinji. It seems that inside it lives the soul of his mother -- Ikari Yui. Also, it seems that the physical body of EVA-01 was made using Lilith. This is why in the case when the Spear of Longinus was lost, EVA-01 became the only substitute of Lilith as the tool for Human Complementation.
The Secret of EVA-02
(NIGOKI) EVA-02 PRODUCTION MODEL. The first EVA in the world to be built for real battles. Design and manufacture of components were done by Japan. The final assembly and startup experiment were done in Germany. It went through a real battle when it battled with the 6th Angel which suddenly appeared during its delivery to Japan. Afterwards, it joined in the defense of Neo-Tokyo-3 and assumed the responsibility of ambushing the Angels. Coloring is red. Dedicated pilot is Second Children -- Souryu.Asuka.Langley. Inside EVA-02 lived the soul of Asuka's mother -- Souryu.Kyouko.Langley.
