dunno if this counts, since Game Over more rearranged (all parts are played by real instruments, not synths) than remixed Punch-Out, but I've already done "Little Mac's Confession" to Hajime no Ippo here:

if you can't wait for Anime USA or aren't going, email me and I'll get it to you somehow.
information on the song/band is to be had at www.nintendometal.com.

Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.

rys, that's an excellent idea. Not that MJ is assigning songs just yet... hehe
unless he gives me AUTHORITY muhahaha.
You'll need to find a good remix of excitebike... the one from OC isn't
very danceriffic...
Kai, no rush for the video. I am quite interested to see it though.
Lot's of interest... very very cool. I am up to Dragon Warrior on my
remix opinions/check... lol... 11+ hours to go...

Hmmm... I feel a little sheltered.
The NES didn't really hit it off in the UK as much as it did in the states, so I honestly haven't got a clue what any of these themes are like - I've never played a NES ^_^;;;
Now if you wanted someone to do an amv to music from the Amiga release of Turrican 2, I'd be all over it

Ok, I think I've got the problem solved for which game to use.
If we use famous games of Nintendo's and the song is either the theme or one of the most memorable pieces from teh game (i.e. we don't double up on games, one song per game) we can get it mixed well. I have a regular NES library of 124 games so I have 90% of what's been listed here and what is on the website. I can use footage of game selection and start screens etc... as teh track selection which I can film myself and get to everyone who has a track so the game has more of a logical progression.
How does that sound?

I was thinking about the game title screens also, I think we could always distribute emus with roms to the given creator for their own creative use. As for single game only... I think if a game has more than one GOOD mix, there is no reason to hold it back. A couple good megaman remixes will rule when mixed with some contra etc.
I need to talk to MJ as I already have a general project presentation ready
to post.
... my remix review of all the OC songs is going well and should be done
this afternoon.
AD, when I put up the list you might want to just check out a few random songs... maybe something might stand out.
Hakura, very happy to see your excitement! hehe

I never thought you'd guys would be all over this idea. I hereby deputize Fluxmeister as the main operator of this project since he has done the most leg work on it. Also (if you guys want to of course)Jonathan, Wonka, and Carlos can also assist in organizing since "El Familia" has to stick together. As far as track assignments go, I really need to hear a bunch of these remixes to see what we have to work with. I'm glad to see so much enthiusasm about this project and I think it could definitetly work. ^_^
