How do you find out about the latest anime?
Does anyone know of a site that shows what some of the newest animes being created in Japan are?

Anime News Network is pretty good.
But let me say this: just because something's new, doesn't mean its good. In fact, most are down-right horrible! (I have a definite hatred for most Anime made after 2000... only a few have my seal of approval, and even less I'll consider on par with my favorites; I'm one of the older guys here, probably, so I remember the glory days of the late 80s to mid 90s when the only animes that were brought over were A-class stuff... gone are the days when Slayers was new... )
I suggest checking out as many of the classics as you can before searching for new stuff that will nine-times-outta-ten be junk. A lot of Neo-Otaku (my word for the people who've joined in the craze only about 2 or 3 years ago that obsess over only newer Anime, especially whatever's currently popular) refuse to watch "older" Animes for one half-assed reason or another; it's usually the production quality, which I'll admit has gone up recently, but a pretty picture does not a good show make.

shini_chizu: For the most part i am looking for really crazy shows like FLCL or Excel Saga. I am also a fan of shows that deal with horror or action/comedy shows like Slayers.
EmilLang1000: Thanks for the tip on where to go. I will be sure to check it out. As for older anime do you have any suggestions. I love, comedy, action, horror, in other words I am willing to give anything a try.

I usually get huge heads up on new series on that popular fansub forum place (but it's down for the moment ).

Go around the right forums and talk with the right people. Read japanese anime magazines.
Other than this try Anime News Network:
http://animenewsnetwork.com/
And the best site is Moon Phase of course. (though it is in japanese, so unless you can read japanese it is useless to you)
http://www.moonphase.cc/Html/anime.html
And then there is the "new anime list" from Animenfo found at:
http://www.animenfo.com/newanime/
There are some other sides, but they are very specific and I think that is not what you are looking for.
