I think these poor pathetic people have no friends and steal other people's work to try to feel special.
Making an amv, is rather like being the director of a Broadway show, where you have a million dancers and each of them only knows one step.

I totally agree...

Some news for you guys:

Here in the Philippines, some of your AMVs are being aired, that's right aired on TV. It's a TV chat channel where you chat using your cellphone and your message appears on TV. And on the right side of the TV screen are music videos from MTV and sometimes you will see AMVs. Just want to share this with you all.

The channel names are:

LinkTV
ChatLink
CableLink
TXT-Network

I know that even if you show these videos here, you won't get sued or something but... they edited the videos and put their logos and their names on the videos so they can take credit. I even saw my first AMV there. :(

Woah. I don't know about that.

Before I found the Org. I stumbled across some on Kazaa.. well several.. so there are infinite possibilities on how the video could be stolen

this video for instance
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCRDQewhXzc&search=AMV
I searched on the Org and didnt find it. but could very well be someone elses..
I downloaded this video from Kazaa well over a year ago... and the time that youtube says it was put on their site doesnt really coincide with when I saw it.. .. .. I cant confirm that this one is stolen.. i dont know the author. and the link sends you to a video stream so the it might look a bit funny.. but when I watched through the video there looked like there were some large blocks later in the vid. I think it may have been recoded. the quality I have.. blows this one away.. Sorry im rambling.. in short the file sharing programs contribute to the theft as well.

P.S. > heh forgot: I no longer download them from Kazaa.. and all my AMV downloads are in a certain folder that are not shared.

lol just thought I'd put that in before someone started releasing their rage on me.

Given that YouTube didn't become really popular until a year or so ago, that's no surprise even if the original creator was the one to put it up.

That will happen with any AMV you post. The quality is degraded, there may be skipping, and there's nothing you can do about it.

I understand people just wanting to share videos. Before I saw a-m-v.org, Kazaa was my first chance at seeing one or two vids. It's bad though putting them on your own website giving them greater access from people it may anger-
Or of course, stealing credit.

Yea this is kinda disturbing. There are two Mr. Brightside/FLCL vids on that site, both uploaded after my own. Luckily, neither was my own original work. While I doubt any of my videos are popular enough to be stolen, some of the scenes were a little too similarly placed for my comfort. Makes me wonder whether my vid was the "inspiration" for these you tube hacks.
