From what I got from the posters in AnimeOnDVD and the fansub forums, the new Negima series will be a bit more action-packed and adventurous. It seems like it'll be released in two editions, a Spring Edition and a Summer Edition. I assume this series is going to be in an OVA format.

I also got that director Akiyuki Shinbo (Soultaker, Tsukuyomi ~ Moon Phase, Petite Cossette) and the animation peeps from SHAFT (Pani Poni Dash!, Tsukuyomi ~ Moon Phase) will be working on this. Heck, most of the staff of Pani Poni Dash! will work on this.

Feel free to get someone who can directly translate those ads though!

Woah... any word on how closely it will follow the Manga?

The first one was pretty good, but skipped quite a bit (not even sure if the whole Asuna thing even HAPPENED in the comic). This looks like it could be really good, too - animation, at least, looks like it got an upgrade.

Well I couldn't translate those even if I knew more Japanese thatn I do - the text is really small - but it looks like they're gonna call it Negima! Shinsei!! Or "Negima! Rebirth!!"

Given the mixed reviews of the original series, hopefully this will be better and licensed as well.

OK, update.

I belong to a guild on Gaia that's dedicated to discussing Negima. Anyway, from there I got the following translation, which in turn originates from a website whose name rhymes with "anime kooky". The language is kind of hyperbolic, over-hyped if you will. Spoilerized just in case:
Translation wrote:Spring 2006! More Exciting, (Than) Ever Before! Newborn Negima!! This Time is (a) Magic Battle!!
Brand New Animation Announced!!
Key Animator: Outa Kazuhiro
(Animation)Finish: Hibino Hitoshi (SHAFT)

Negima! Project Launched!! A new whirlwind, where the magic teacher relaeases a shocking arrow?

Eight months since the moving finale of the TV aninme, and three months since the Mahora-sai live event, a joyous spring will come for the fans of Negima! who have been spending a cold and lonely winter! Negima! will be arrive in the form as a new anime!

Introducing a powerful new staff, with a new look, the newborn Negima! Project has activated! Look for the shocking wind with your own eyes.

The strongest mage in (Shounen) Magazine, Akamatsu Ken Sensei

"For this new Negima! anime, it seems that the artwork will be full of motion, so I'm looking forward to it. I met the new anime staff, and the Director Shinbou and Playwriter Kanemaki are really enthusiastic about it. Not only that, apparently there'll be an original development, different from that of the manga version of Negima!, so I'm looking forward to it in a fresh way. Perhaps it may even surpass the manga version? Also, I have a long lasting relationship with the voice actresses for Negi and the classmates, so it's relieving to know that I can rely on them to do the job. Negima! fans can surely expect a lot from this, and I hope to see you at the event!"

The anime director who has to care for 31 girls, Mr. Shinbou Akiyuki (Past works include: Pani Poni Dash!, Tsukuyomi -Moon Phase-, an anime director with a reputation for service)

"Negima! has so many characters, it's hectic (lol). The problem with having so many people is that, you can't keep track of what they're doing. In order for that to not happen, I'd like to move the 31 of them in a lively way. Especially this time, I am creating it in the image of the characters waving at a camera in a "long time, no see" fashion. This way, there would be meaning in having lots of characters. By doing this anime, I am feeling as if I have 31 daughters (lol). This time I'm considering to showcase all of my daughters in swimsuits, so please look forward to it (lol).

Negima! New Anime (Shounen) Magazine Reader Limited Event to take place!!

Surpassing that of the TV anime, a battle and heart throbbing filled sensation.

The shocking attraction, once more!

Kagurazaka Asuna - This is the cuter, new-look Asuna!

Negi Springfield - The new Negi is kind of cool!

The new anime, only seen at the upcoming event, is a masterpiece that defies common sense!

From the first look of the character designs, everybody will probably think, "It's different this time!". Not only are the looks different, the contents have been drastically changed, too! In any case, the characters move! They approach you! They battle it out! Leaving in the original charm of Negima!, but totally re-born!!

The new anime is consists of a Spring Edition and a Summer Edition!!
Amazingly, there will be two new anime! Although it is currently under production, the Srping Edition will air at the event in srpingtime. Plus, we have obtained information that the stage of the story will take place on a south island. That means, we may get to see the swimsuits at the sea, beach, and jungle! WIll the Summer Edition be shown at a summer festival? Can't wait to see it!

The classmates lingering in our minds. The voice actresses are enthusiastic!!

Playing the role of Asuna, Miss Kanda Akemi: "I pledge that we classmates will channel our full strength in the various events and put together our powers and shine!! Such words are befitting of the 31 classmates and Negi-bouzu. Not only do we dub our voices to the characters from the manga, but we get to sing on stage, and become a radio disk jockey, things that seiyuus usually don't challenge, therefore, I believe that I have experienced a lot of things from Negima!, struggling at times, but enjoying it as well. This time, we will join forces and laugh away the obstacles and go for it. Akamatsu-sensei, (Shounen Magazine) readers, we Negima! Classmates promise that we will continue to shine!!"

Playing the role of Negi, Miss Satou Rina: "Congratulations on the new anime! I'm Satou Rina, the voice of Negi Springfield, already excited and jittery thinking about seeing Negi and the classmates moving again. Hello to the readers of (Shounen) Magazine! I remember the first time I dubbed Negi was at the anime premiere at an event also. It was the first time I played the role of a boy, and I remember being very nervous (I still remeber the line (lol)). It's been 2 years already! This Negima! will be created together with my long time colleagues and new staff. In such a tense but comfortable atmosphere, I intend to act out Negi-kun with all my might. I am so happy, I cannot express out in words about meeting my classmates and playing Negi-kun again! Please look forward to this anime full of such happiness. It would be great to see you at the event."

Magazine will be chasing the Negima! Project thoroughly in 2006!

Lovely and active, the newly desinged clasmates.

Miyazaki Nodoka
Sasaki Makie
Yukihiro Ayaka
Sakurazaki Setsuna
Konoe Konoka

In the Spring Edition, not only the girls pictured here, but apparently all 31 of them will appear! All of them will be newly designed, with their smiling faces, actions, and heart throbbing level raised 200% Look forward patiently for the classmates not pictured here, until the day arrives when you can meet them.

We're going to put them to life!!

Introducing the new staff!!
Director: Shinbou Akiyuki

Oh man, if that's the case, I anticipate the action scenes to be rather Soultaker-esque (meaning expect freaky camera angles and flashy color schemes). Of course that's why I loved Tsukuyomi ~ Moon Phase because of those aspects. 8-)
