Need help with a collab...
I take Art at my current high school and ever since I showed my art teacher the video I recently made (the one I'll put up), she wants me and my two friends to make a collaboration for our mid-semester art grade.
Thing is, I don't know any songs that are long enough for us to make a collaboration to. I mean, I want us to each have at least 1:30 - 2:30 each, if that's possible. I don't want anything hardcore (ex: Atreyu, Darkest Hour, Messiah Complex, etc) or don't want anything too soft (ex: Sarah McLachlan (maybe another time), Enya, or Natalie Merchant, etc). If anyone could give me a reference to anything with a good beat, probably with an angelic melody to a trance track with good drums, plz tell me someone good. I pretty sure me and my two friends can't just about make any AMV good to any song, but I want something that's really good. Thanks.

Ahh well difficult to say really.. as far as length goes.. Tool always does pretty good with lengthy songs.. but it would depend on your preference.. Savage Garden has a couple as well.. but they could be to soft
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=72539
in that video I uses Savage Garden's To the Moon and Back. its.. roughly over 5 minutes long..
I'm not at home right now but i've got round 32 gig of music there.. if someone else hasnt helped you out with this i'll look through my stuff and get back to you

I could suggest alot of things here.
First a few industrial bands:
Nine Inch Nails: Trent Reznor is always superb and the lyrics are always interesting. As industrial is in generel, NiN is very simplistic when it comes to the construction of the songs (they just manage to keep it interesting and sate it with atmosphere at the same time). Look into the songs "The wretched", "The Only" and "Closer".
Rammstein: If you want something not too hard and not too soft, i imidietly start thinking Rammstein. You should know what they sound like.
Sunna - Power Struggle: I'm only recommending "Power Struggle" because it's the only thing they've made that in a decent pace. The song contains, good semi-catchy guitars, steady drumming and chanting lyrics. Unlike the two before-mentioned bands, these guys don't carry alot of emotion in their songs.
Ok, that covers industrial. Now for some rock:
Tool: They're own videos are mindblowing and they are insanely capable with their instruments. If you're looking for something different with odd rythems this should prove worthwhile. You'd probably want to know who they are anyhow.
Queens of the Stone age: Again a little odd and definetly recognizeable. They've got a very retro feel over their music, it's hard to discribe.
Ok, i think i'll stop discribing each and every band from this point on. You should ahve heard these before, so they might ring a bell: Metallica, Foo Fighters, Audioslave, Nirvana, The Cardigans, Goo Goo Dolls... i think that's all.

if your using certain anime then you'll want to find something that matches up.. also you want to keep people attention, so i say stick to something catchy and upbeat.. if not techno then something people will enjoy~ Also you'll most likely want a song that both easy to edit to, and that you can put a lot of neat effects and stuff into.. You might want to look for remixes and stuff.. also, if you know what anime your going to use that might help us in helpping you find a song

Why stick to popular music? why not just music you yourself like?AMV_4000 wrote:if your using certain anime then you'll want to find something that matches up.. also you want to keep people attention, so i say stick to something catchy and upbeat.. if not techno then something people will enjoy~ Also you'll most likely want a song that both easy to edit to, and that you can put a lot of neat effects and stuff into.. if you're making an AMV for the purpose that it should please to biggest amount of people then techno would be apropriate but if you're making it for yourself it should be your own preference.
This is a project for an arts class. You'd think an arts teacher would disregard his/her own musical preference when it comes to evaluating art.
Any steadybeat mid-tempo song should be easy to edit to and it's more than possible to make a good AMV without effects.
It would help to know more about what anime Vagrant is looking to make an AMV to.
