i need to find a song editing software to edit my amv's song can anyone recommend some good open source ones?

Goldwave is pretty good. It's mostly what I use, though it's technically shareware.

Does Audacity eat up a lot of RAM? Cause mine keeps crashing. It's like a PC nightmare made for Mac!

... and for IBM-compatible, and for Linux...

I've never had problems with it crashing on my IBM-compatible (running WinXP), but I haven't exactly been paying attention to its RAM usage either.
