You're also from the North Shore, right? We're probably talking, substantially, about the same retail outlets (except the local comic shops up in Maine when I was at school), so the difference (or at least its importance) may come down to personal perspective.

The crack in Excel Saga was in the dubbed version in the American Cartoon crossover episode.

My problem with going to conventions is that I live in the middle of Nowhere. Which is in upstate New York. Ah well, I promise myself that I will make it to at least one con before I die. :)

It's not that anime is expensive.....We all are just cheap, poor bastards! :D

Well, I got a job at a Target recently just to find/talk to girls so anime DVD's are nothing now. 30 bucks, yeah, take it.

As a matter of fact, I had 20 bucks in my pocket the other day and it just dispeared most likely cause it was windy. Did I care? Yes, even lost my college ID too, and began screaming.....but did I get the anime I wanted......no......"uhhhh.....I forgot the point I was trying to make so......yeah...."

I know you don't live in the middle of nowhere, this is the official map.

I'm sure you will get to a con soon. We all must make the pilgrimage some time.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

Anime is an adult's animation preference. Most if not all responsible adults have a job. Said job generates income to afford said anime.

If not, we download or rent it. [preferably deleting them after one viewing if you think it sucks, or you buy it]

Btw, my company is looking for people interested in a job, you can pm me [don't email or use icq, this forum's pm system is fine] and I'll see what I can do about your lack of money. And yes, must be 18 or older [though it's NOT what you think it is...]

Lots of the domestic animation stuff are for kids, no pun intended, so since it's cheaper, parents will get it more readily...

But... if you want anime, rent when you can, and if you wait long enough, they'll dive in price.

Me, I'm impatient so I always get anime knowing that 1 year later or so... They'll release a box set that's 50+% off. But when someone gets that, I'm saying, "Yeah, that's awesome series, saw it 2 years ago! ^_^"

Anime is expensive and as far as that's concerned, it's well worth it!

YAY FOR HENTAI!
"Strength lies in action. Let the weak react to me..." - Kamahl, Pit Fighter from Magic: the Gathering
"That is a mistake many of my enemies make. They think before they act. I act before I think!" - Vortigern from Merlin ('98)
"I AM REBORN!" - Dark Schneider Bastard!! OAV
