Post by HyeVltg3 » Sun Apr 02, 2006 12:07 pm

No idea if this is the right thread :P

Ok, I've recetly finished watching Full Metal Alchemist,Chobits, Love Hina and Evangelion and currently watching Naruto and Bleach...I set up this thread to ask people what other anime i should look into, because i love the above animes but no i feel bored because i can't find any anime that's like the ones listed above. Now im just bummed out about which anime to watch so i ask you the readers/watchers of anime to recommend anime i should loook into.

OIf this post does magicaly become a Sticky then i advise all to post they're "recommend-an-anime" post. :P

sorry if it's asking too much but could you just put the number on the ones that have one of the following...

1) Toilet Humor like Chobits " Yummies.."
2) Ninjutsu-like-ability Like Naruto and FMA
3) Something like Evangelion Mecha-wise

I will be completely grateful if you can do this.

Can't say that's the best system out there, so here's my alternative and I'll only categorize mine.

1) Has Action
2) Has Comedy
2.5) Has alot of pervertedness (other than characters)
3) Has Adventure
4) Has alot of depth
5) Made me cry (from an emotional story)
5.5) Made me tear up (From emotional story)
6) General Awesomeness
7) Awesome Story (As in best of the best, FMA doesn't make it here)

One anime neither of these guys mentioned that I would like to recommend is Wolf's Rain. Great story and animation, and it can be very emotional at times. You might also like RahXephon and/or Fullmetal Panic which both involve mechs. Fullmetal Panic can also be both humorous and serious.

That is entirely your opinion.

Of course that is. But that doesn't mean I think the story isn't great, just that it doesn't blow me away. Even in all the anime EmilLang listed, only Gankutsuou does that for me. FLCL took a lot of watching before I understood it enough for the story to do that, And Kino's Journey is just plain awe-inspiring for me.

Well, Gankutsuou blew away story-wise as it was the adaptation of the second half of Alexander Dumas' famous classic novel, the count of monte cristo. I'll also give the 7) score thingy (your alternative) to Monster (manga), berserk, and nge. Oh, and that is entirely my opinion for the people who don't know. LOL>

People, his 1-3 are things he likes. I think you kind of missed the point.

So he's not only looking for random good series, but things that have those qualities 1-3.

I was just going to ask "what kinds of other movies do you like?" or "what did you like about those series?", but that kind of answers that question. I don't have any answers for ya, since my tastes are different, but good luck!

Ah, gotcha. I misunderstood what you were getting at with that.

Well HyeVltg3, if you like ninjas I might recommend Ninja Scroll the Movie. The series is...interesting if you aren't expecting much. The fight scenes are cool, but the plot is wonky and not that great.
