Now, I'm not defending that assbag, but generalizing death metal blows. I could list quite a few DM bands that superceed those generalizations, but I'll save it because I'm quite sure you're too close-minded to attempt to listen to them.Tono_Fyr wrote: Aww, look at the poor little trolling retard, unable to begin to criticize anything because his mind can't articulate thoughts beyond "this is gay" or "This sucks", just like the rest of the death metal drones you find all over the place. If you're going to say that something sucks, list reasons WHY that particular thing sucks. And something being old doesn't count. Over-rated only works to a certain extent.
Why would I listen to death metal that all sounds the same? I mean, think about it, most of the songs follow a formula. Drummer, double bass, fast as possible, with crashes on sixteenths, rides on eighths, snares on fourths. Guitar, power chord whore for your rhythm section, and the use of big E repetitively works, too, and make sure the rhythm section completely overpowers whatever solo the lead can put out, because everyone knows having a lead that's actually hearable is TOTALLY untr00. Bass, one Note, really fast. Vocalist, kill your vocal chords, make every word you say scratchy, and either yell at the top of your lunges or from the bowels.
General, yes, but for generalization, general statements work. There are always exceptions, but generally, death metal all sounds the same. The same goes for each and every type of music that exists. The majority of it sounds the same and is completely unoriginal, and therefore sucks. but there are a select few that stand a few heads above.
Now, if you expect to get another response out of me, stop using your little "I'm repeating myself through numbering statements" method, and actually say something worthwhile, like WHY you dislike something, instead of just saying "it's gay, it's over rated, I don't like it".
Now, as for Pink Floyd: They were what they were. They were one of the originators of that acid-induced rock. They're overrated, but certainly not for bad reasons. Tribute bands blow, they just kill the legacy that Floyd had (and still has). What I'm saying is that they win, if you're into classic rock. Some people aren't. I'm not really into classic rock, but I still occasionally give Meddle or WYWH or The Wall a listen. I respect what Floyd did.
