FMA in the future?

Post by gandy » Mon Apr 17, 2006 7:01 am

I have to do this project where I take some topic we discussed in class, and talk about it in the past, present, and future. I'm thinking of doing alchemy. I don't want to do film, entertainment, or sports like everyone else, and we talked about alchemy briefly. For the past I can find enough, and for the present I figure I can talk about legends (meaning I can show clips from FMA  ).

The problem is, I'm not sure what to do for the future.
I suppose I could design a machine that looks remarkably like Ed's and have it transmute things. XD

Well, any suggestions that could spark ideas of my own would be welcome. I guess instead of a writer's block I have a project block.

woah....

Alchemy in the FMA world is way different than what alchemy was in the real world.

I know that, that's why I could talk about how present myths have almost transmuted (ha, couldn't resist) the meaning of alchemy. Which makes me think. Maybe I could talk about how the future will even further alter the meaning.

The only similarities there are in 'true' Alchemy and 'FMA' Alchemy are the transmutation circles and the idea of understanding a substance, breaking it down, and recreating it. That's literally it.

The transmutation circles don't actually do anything themselves except for serving as a code so that anyone who couldn't read them can't create what the creating alchemist has done. The symbols represent ingredients, lines represent time, and the quote is a hint to understanding the circle.

For your idea of future, maybe you could write about how the understanding of Alchemy could help further scientific developments?

Ever see a replicator on Star Trek? And they didn't need transmutation circles to make things with it either. :P
