This is really bugging me.
I still have a copy of the first video that I remember, or least the one that taught me to really appreciate that an AMV can mean something to you. When I downloaded it, I was obsessed with minimizing every file's load on my hard drive, so I resaved it with the start/end points cut off. For years, I have often freely enjoyed playing the video, but I have NO FREAKING IDEA who made it. It's the Sailor Moon S footage put together with Linkin Park's "With You." Unfortunately, there's so many videos that use Sailor Moon footage and Linkin Park songs, that every search has failed to reveal that one video.
EDIT: Ok, I think it was kastong's Gryphon Studios that made the video I'm refering to. The creation date is about right. But the link is dead. Anyone know where kastong went? Or where the video might be found?

My First was the Trigun set to Wierd Al's BEER song. My friends had gotton involved on this site, and were making vids and showed me some. I've waited years to finally get my set up working, took forever.

My first AMV's were the three from the Noir DVDs. From the order at the DVDs the first was "Kirika Yuumura" to "Canta Per Me". The editor I don't know, the credits didn't tell. At this time I thought it were made by the animation company for advertising.
The one that made me realize that AMVs are fan made was made by a fellow member of a Noir board. It's "Is Love Worth Fighting For?" by Silly, a Noir vid to the Troy trailer. It was the ignition to start making AMVs.
