Using soft subbed media instead of hard subbed media is a good way. :P

whats the Best Program to get rid of Subs
VirtualDub

Video --> Filters --> Add... --> Resize

Set the width and height to the video's resolution so you're not actually resizing it, you just need a filter on so you can crop (I'm unsure of how to crop without a filter on in Vdub). Back on the filter list, hit Cropping... and crop the bottom portion of the video clip so you cannot see the subtitles.

A third of your clip is now gone, another reason to stick to DVD ripping. But when worse comes to worse, you gotta do what you gotta do.

To crop in Vdub without a filter you add the 'null' filter which does absolutely nothing. ^^;

You could easily crop it out with programs like premiere and vegas.. or there is this one tool I've used before in Vegas where I would just color in the area to match the colors around it in the specific area where the subs are. I think the tool is called eyedropper.

Best software = not using p2p software and BitTorrent to get editing sources. The best technique for removing subs is getting a job and buying DVDs and/or a capture card so you don't make pirated AMVs that are unstable in editing programs and have crappy video quality. Yarrrgh.
