Do you buy an anime and fail to watch it?
A serious question. Lately, I've noticed. I will buy an anime series and then it just sits on my shelf and collects dust. I'd say a good half of my anime collection goes untouched. Most of them still have the protective cellophane on the cases yet. XD Is this typical of most people, or do I just have too much money?

I don't, but I have a friend who does. He'll buy anime and video games, won't open them, and let them sit on his shelf. I'll buy computer games and not play them very long before shelfing them. But I'd never not open them. You don't even watch the first couple episodes or so? Perhaps you do have too much money, but I'd like to know why you wouldn't watch them. =P

When I buy them it seems like a great idea. But it seems like I never get the chance to sit down a watch them. It's kind of wierd. A lot of them I've already seen, a few I haven't. It seems I'd rather watch ones I've seen before than ones I haven't/

Yes. Bad habit of mine. Though I kind of created an "excuse" to watch them by making a habit of watching them while doing something else. Like, every time I work on Thing X, I also catch up on some anime. Or my partly-live-action Netflix queue, whichever. That way it doesn't seem so much like Sitting Down To Watch Something as having it on in the background as you go about life.
Also, try to buy things that you'll actually watch! I recommend renting to cover the "meh, this is supposed to be good but whatever" territory.

I may actually hold the record here.
my 16th birthday and got my first Anime and DVD which was Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, im 20 and a half, still sitting there unwatched, it started with a busted PS2 then became a problem with about 30 DVD's and about 30 manga's or so with only one read dieing of boredom at ol grandads. only one still in the wrapper is the Ah my goddess movie.

Anime DVDs haven't really been the case for me. I've watched all my anime, but that's probably because i don't have as much Anime as i do Manga. I still have yet to read DNAngel volume 10 and i've had that for *tries to count back* ..the day after Christmas. I still never finished reading all of Shaolin Sisters (which isn't even mine. it's my sis's collection.), nor Vampire Game 14 (that's because sis lent it away though.. > <). I'm still working on the Gravitation novel right now, but yeah.. > > (sis has the habit of getting anime and not watching it though!) Oh, and i never completely finished School Rumble volume 2 (in Japanese).

See, I think one of the biggest things that contribute to this problem is just never enough time. It seems like I have all the time in the world. But when I actually think I'm going to sit down and watch and anime, I always get sidetracked.
