I think it was supposed to be ZoRo... given, Japanese Rs don't translate well into english.

Still, I think it was meant to be an allusion to the early-twentieth-century swashbuckler Zorro, so I'm gonna go with the R for now.

What if I was a fan of one of those shows that got cut? Say One Piece for example.

I think he was saying that it was a reference to Zorro, not that he IS Zorro.

Well, quite frankly the reason I personally don't care much about this one way or the other, is that I've learned that watching Americanized anime just plain sucks. I used to watch it on TV where I live, but now I just go with torrents.

The only reason it makes me feel slightly pissed off that 4Kids have done stupid things in the past is that it makes the Anime experience less enjoyable for an older audience, and knowing it could be so much better for a lot of people feels a little wrong.

I'm a fan of One Piece, and personally, I think that 4kids entertainment did not cut One Piece.

THEY RAPED IT!!!!!

It's the worst dub in the history of dubbing, period! It's insulting to everyone who made the original, including Oda himself.(One Piece's mangaka).

They cut out over 30 episodes of the anime, changed guns to supersoakers, and put in horrible puns. Several character arcs were severly neutered, too.

I can't even put into words further how much I hate Al Kahn and 4kids entertainment in general.

Getting back on topic, this new branch of theirs will problably screw up any new anime they license even more.

Do not buy anything from 4kids entertainment!!! Do not support their artistic murder and manglings of good anime!!!

I'm a huge fan of what's probably the most edited to death anime to ever be released and aired in the United States. That anime is Sailor Moon. So do I go and make a million threads about how much Dic and Cloverway suck and need to change? No, I just don't watch the edited shit, and I move on with my life. Why is that concept so difficult for people to grasp?

Well sir, this is my first thread to be exact to talk about 4kids, and this isn't a rant about 4kids. I'm just posting about 4kids making a company called 4sight. I might've made a comment about 4kids but I never started ranting about how much they made "Stinkie Poo Poo Doodie" dubs. If u want me to sir, I'll go to the first page and say how much stinkie they make in dubs.

oh and...I actually move on with their lives just fine actually and I bet everyone here does too....

My sympathies to those who don't get DVD releases at all - I'd get Rose of Versailles in a heartbeat if history bothered to remember it. But if you are bitching about the broadcast version of anything when an uncut DVD version is available - I don't care how it's dubbed, either, because that's what subtitles are for, MORONS - then you deserve to be beaten soundly.

Besides, if you were THAT much of a fan you'd order the R2 versions anyway. Wouldn't you. I can't call myself an RoV fan because I never got any import versions - that's what fans do when the first option is something they don't like. They pick the next option, instead of doing nothing but bitching about it on the internet.
