Ya, I got another question, if this is based on the alternate universe of Evangelion, why are there Evas in the picture, Psygnius?

The concept of the story is based on the alternate universe, such as Asuka and Shinji are childhood friends, Rei as the new exchange student, Misato as the teacher, and both of Shinji's parents are alive. And that's about all the glimpse we get in episode #26 from the TV show. Everything else involving the alternate universe are liberties and decisions that writers had to make. I've never played the game myself, but I'm pretty sure that in this universe, Shinji and everyone would enjoy piloting the Evas as opposed to the original story. I'm pretty sure they needed to add this into the story so there was more of a plot, or they just wanted to add Eva cameos just so the title doesn't seem TOO much out of place.

If this is the Girlfriend of Steel 2 manga, which I'm pretty darn sure it is, the kids lead a happy little life by themselves; even Kaworu is there. Asuka and Shinji have known each other since they were toddlers; Toji and Haruka (the class rep) are becoming closer; Kaworu, in his infinite "friendliness," makes advances on Shinji left and right, much to Asuka's dismay; and Kensuke obssesses over two things: girls and weapons. Enter the transfer student: Rei Ayanami, who immediately is attracted to Shinji. Then, one day, the nurse, Ritsuko Akagi, asks to see the children (Shinji, Asuka, Rei, Toji, and yes, even Kensuke) and tells them to report to NERV, the research organization where Shinji's mother and father work.
There, they're told that they need to pilot these gigantic things called "Evas." Although they think they're pretty cool, they're obviously intended for warfare; this is confirmed after the "Giant of Light" appears - something Shinji had feared coming ever since he saw it in a dream. Now, not sure whether or not they want to pilot them, they're faced with the idea that if they don't, their loved ones will be killed.
As if this wasn't enough, Kaji - a gym teacher I believe - and Misato, who both have positions in NERV, have come across something very disturbing abuot Kaworu. Where did he come from, how long has he been at the school, and what relationship does he have to the Giant of Light and the subsequent Angels?
In a Takahashi-esque manner, the Giant Mech fights and mystery are only backdrops to a larger story: namely, the love-poplyhedron between Asuka, Shinji, Rei, and Kensuke.
The manga, when I read it scanlated, wasn't quite as good as the original Eva manga; still, it's an addicting read, and I suggest you guys look into it.

ADV did give out a sneak peek of it -- Newtype USA serialized half of the first volume from the end of last year to beginning of this year.
After reading it, I can't wait to see the whole first volume.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

I believe there was an Evangelion game for the N64 awhile back but, it was never released here. I suppose of the massive Eva on Eva violence because, it was based on the movie End of Evangelion. You are right Psygnius because I would perfer to kick major angel ass in an Evagelion.

I enjoyed the N64 eva game. The fighting was a little dull though. >_>RevanSigma wrote:I believe there was an Evangelion game for the N64 awhile back but, it was never released here. It followed the eps though. Stay true to the series and showed off some off the best graphics the N64 has ever seen.
Not one eva game has ever made it to the US.
Pretty much all of them can be found here : http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-19-71-8m- ... 43-99.html
and another new eva game which is a ramake of eva 2 for PS2 will be released for PSP with better graphics and such on 4/29/06. Japan only.
If you have a mod chip in your PS2 or the swap disk and flip top exploit or a JP PS2 then you can enjoy some of these games.
