Ed convinced Al not to go because of the interview, they would ask questions about Al's metal body and find out that they (Elric's) attempted forbidden human transmutaion

Since Older Gohan didn't actually answer any FMA questions, and the last question he asked was about Ghost in the Shell, he's free to ask a FMA question..
