Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

My first AMV attempt
"Hate Me" by Blue October, set to scenes and audio clips from Blue Gender. Its a Tad long (12:26 ) and 97.5MB... had many issues with background music, but I think for a first time building one, I don't think it came out too bad

I have never used [redacted]'s tracker before... so please don't blame me for any connection issues

OK, first a few technical things:
You didn't sufficiently establish the relationship before relying on it, and, just to add insult to injury, the video is entirely too long for no apparant reason. Your timing could use some work, too. Use intermediate exports.
Oh yeah, and you could have ended it less abruptly.
Verdict: Not good. Abuse of source audio, over reliance on familiarity with source, lack of coherent story, and inexplicable length all contribute to a twelve minute video that I found a chore to sit through.
- * WMV bad
* Orphan frames
* Spotty audio editing
- * You relied entirely too much on the original audio
* You relied entirely too much upon the source for the video to make sense

ouch... some very good points... though... abuse of source audio? video doesn't tell its own coherent story?Kalium wrote:OK, first a few technical things:Non-technical things:

* Spotty audio editingTo expand on the second point slightly, this video doesn't tell its own coherent story that I can tell. It feels like a bad retelling of Blue Gender. One with very large gaps.

The entire strip of audio/video was specifically themed into the subject of the song, atleast on the intepretation of this listener.... completely admit its LONG, hell I trimmed 2 minutes off of it I'm waiting on a little feedback from the peeps over at blueoctoberfan.com, musical interpretation is a touchy subject with a lot of audiophiles. I tried to portray the "you may not like what I do for you, but I do them for 'you'" theme with the subject matter of the original Anime.
