WTF is up with "Adult Swim"?

I was just watching Trigun and they cut out the scene from episode 7 "BDN" where this kid gets a gun stuck on his teeth then stuck in his mouth. The cut 12 seconds out. I wonder what is so bad about that scene that they had to cut it. I don't get it. Do they cut appropriate scenes like that all the time? I could understand graphic violence or nudity but why such simple things like that?

Adult Swim has lines that they can't cross. This may be one of them.

Those are probably the old edits Adult Swim use to make way back when it was quite young. Usually when they replay an old series like Trigun, they don't go back and unedit them.

The really sad part is the fact that Saved by the Bell came second in ratings for 2 weeks. (after week 1 AS was talking about airing Full House too)

for the most part I'm not too bothered by edits...AS probably did it so that they could fit in another commercial.

I don't think a gun in a mouth is any worse than having someone's head pushed against a wall with a gun to it (in their promo bit for GITS) so I'd lean twords they just haven't un-edited the footage

Well, there are two things that could account for this: One, it's on an American channel, and they have to cut some things in order to make it fit into our 23-minute time slot, whereas there's is 24-minutes; Second, like they've said, back when AS was really new, they still editted things because they had to cover their asses about some things still - now that they've become as prominent as they are, they COULD go back and add the scenes in, but why waste the time and money when everyday people can't tell the difference?

Yea, but were allowed to see a nun getting her head blown up, and blood is everywhere ? and thats okay ?

I see a bunch of edits, where sceans with blood are removed , or sexually contant with any anime but they dont edit their own shows that they created.
