I'd say convert it to a different (Losless) codec first, premiere + xvid is indeed trouble most of the time....

Then I can't help you, next time try using legal DVD footage instead of downloaded things? xD

Of course, just don't forget to change the resizing to 100X100 XD I'm just saying that it gives less trouble.

If you are short on space you might want to make short lossless clips from the scenes you want. Try lagarith codec. It should give you the most sane filesize for lossless.
Saving up for a new harddrive might be the easiest and most convinient solution though, if you don't want to make clips. Wich I would very much understand. I hate making clips myself. ^^; (Although it does has benefits beyond saving space.)

i have history with divx/xvid and really don't need posts like these

i don't have a godly hdd nor i like making clips
so i guess i'll try lagarith and if it doesn't work i'll make things work somehow alone
as i do most of the time
