I watched it heaps, definately a movie in which everytime you see it, you discover something new...

I pretty much think I know most if not all about Eva...

Kaji leaves the message... then... The red card... His last mission... Why was it kaji is ordered to kidnap fuyutski... Also during the kidnapping misato is asked for her co-operation. and it is said someone else in NERV must be involved and of course with their relationship... then she put her gun an id on the table... so yeah with everything on that website...

Maya Ibuki-Actually no! But I can see why you'd think that, the way she looks at Ritsuko Akagi is from some opinion suss...but I think that she looks up to Ritsuko as a mentor and friend... Love and Respect not Love and Lust...

Maya is just one of those nice and quiet type...

But on the other hand it is the quiet ones you have to worry about...

Motoko seems to have a 'valid' motive, considering he has Misato to gain after Kaji's death, and almost immedieatly filled in his shoes for Misato after that, although it is unlikely why Kaji is meeting up with him in the first place.....

Kaji steals Gendo's buddy and makes hime goto meeting with SEELE.
Misato gets gun taken away by NERV security...<---asked to "cooperate" with them while they do a investigation, they knew she had a relationship with him and didn't want her interfering.... She looked rather said at this moment....
You see her sitting there for awhile.
Then Gendo's buddy blathers on about the past for a little longer.
Afterwards Kaji is walking out with Fujiyuksi(Gendo's Buddy), and basically states "You will probably die because of these action..." Kaji replies "Whatever it takes to get closer to the truth.".
NERV Security hands Misato's gun and ID card back to her. She asks "Is he okay?" and they reply "The problem has been resolved....".

Then we cut to the Kaji death scene "Oh what took you so long".

He left a message on Misato's answering machine because he knew he would die for his actions. He also gave her that pill that contained a microchip in it so, she could continue on his research since they both wanted to know the truth. I don't think you do that to people who you suspect may kill you.

The most likely answer to who shot Kaji would be "some random NERV security dude who was told to do so".
