Death Note (live action) Movie

I'm really surprised that nobody's made a topic on this yet. What are your opinions about the upcoming movie?

Personally, the live action part isn't what bothers me. What I'm concerned about is, how much of the series are they planning to cram into the movie? My guess would be probably up to the point where...

Death note will not make a good movie for the obvious reason that most of the dialouge is actually just people thinking... no action really.

There are going to be two movies (released in June and September), and they will cover the entire L arc.

I'm not sure where exactly the first movie will leave off, or even how closely it will follow the manga (although there were certainly recognizable scenes in the trailer!), but what you wrote in the spoiler box was my guess as well.

I'll wait and see but from what ive seen they are changing things and adding charecters. So they could very well mess it up, will wait and see though.

I'm only up to date with the US manga releases, so therefore pitifully behind - but I'm intrigued. I also wonder whether any AMV editors will try live-action videos because of it, which would be pretty cool. Invade! Invade!
