BIG Negima news!!!!

There's an announcement about Negima in the Moon Phase blog site (which by the way is the most reliable news blog site for anime annoucements):

Obviously you need to know Japanese (or you could Babelfish it), but from what I got from a user who can read that, here's what happening:

- A new Negima TV series will be animated (along with the previous announcement of the OVA specials). I don't know if it's going to be redone from Xebec's version.

- Akiyuki Shinbo of Tsukuyomi ~ Moon Phase, Pani Poni Dash, and Soultaker fame will direct it.

- Gainax and SHAFT will animated it. Yes, you heard me, Gainax will be involved!!!

Yes! I didn't delete my Negima episodes yet. The difference between the manga and anime annoys me but maybe I'll give it a chance sometime. Good to hear they are making more eps.

while that is good news ive got some bad news

I went to the negima premiere at acen, the english voices rank somewhere in between Naruto and One piece.

it was pretty bad.

Really? I heard otherwise considering FUNi's dubs has been consistantly high quality since their DBZ days.

Negis voice was way to raspy and high at the same time, even for a 9 year old kid from wales.

he was adorable, but his voice just didnt seem to fit for me.

Asuna was ok, Konoka was like a chipmunk after breathing in some helium, and Chamo sounded like a gangster.

i guess they werent that bad, but they werent very good.

Naruto didn't turn out that bad in the dub.. ( except for Naruto himself..which really sucked.. > < )

If it's anything like One Piece though, then i'm very afraid... o_o;; (the voices scared me beyond all reasoning..)

I guess i should rephrase that.

Chamo sounded like the V.A. was trying to force a gangster like voice.

I guess thats what i mean, -_- i dont know how to explain it otherwise.
