By the way why are the resolutions 720 x 480? Not 640?
Are you planning on burning it to DVDs or something?

I wanted to start with a commonly used resolution for the high quality videos. When I compile the video together, I plan on resizing the whole thing to 640 x 480. I will make exceptions if editing at 640 x 480 is essential to the quality of yours or anyone's video.

Keep in mind that this is the first MEP I'm running myself. I've worked on others and they all requested 720 x 480 resolution. I'm a reasonable guy and will fix any problems to the rules that may arise. So I will repeat to everyone, if you would like to edit at 640 x 480, you may. If you have already started at 720 x 480, don't worry, it will be resized to fit.

Damn, I feel like such a nOOb

yea cause like all my vids are gonna be stretched out either way and the 720 x 480 is only going to make it worse ^^; so I think it would be better to submit 640 x 480

I've been in like 2 MEPs so far (3rd ones not done this would be the 4th) and everyone was 640 x 480, only time I ever encountered 720 was for like AMV contests that required DVD format and stuff

Hmm... Okay. Thanks.

I hate changing this so much so I'll do the easy thing. Video size is at the editor's discression. You may choose between 720 x 480 or 640 x 480. It is your call. I don't want to cause any problems with those currently working.

Keep in mind that the final video will be 640 x 480.

I think that is a fair solution.

I am a super nOOB now. Peachy

720 x 480 only works is if you like use DVD footage and you rip it at 720 x 480 but when your original files are 640 x 480 (or smaller) its pretty s tupid to stretch it to 720 x 480 only for it to be squished back to 640 ^^;

Okay people, lets not fight over this. I said it was the editor's choice wheather to edit at 720x480 or 640x480. If you are not using DVD, then you can edit at 640x480. If you are using DVD then you can do it at 720x480. I exported my video at both and they both look fine, not noticibly squished or anything (I'm using DVD footage btw). The final video will be at 640x480 because that is the standard for most MEPs.

I hope there won't be much confusion over this little bit of, well, confusion.
So here are the revised frame size regulations:

You May edit at EITHER 720x480 OR 640x480.

Regardless of the size, all videos will be RESIZED to 640x480 for the final video.

I hope this solves any confusion among the participants in this MEP.
