Section VII Part 2 b
A little side note on masking, when your character is MOVING, mask will not 'sense his movements' and flow with the character, instead it will just take the form of the first frame you masked out. To mask a MOVING CHARACTER using the masking tool you must do it, frame, by frame. To do this, open your pan/crop option click on mask and you see the diamonds? Those are 'keyframes'.
Keyframes mark a 'keypoint of change' in the actual animation/footage, so each keyframe you set up will have a different change in the same clip. Be reminded, the time window for clip effects is only 4 seconds. This takes some getting used too, but if you're familuar with flash it isn't as difficult to understand or use.

I have a question. In the masking guide Ladymercury posted an image with Alphonsse Elrick. But when you mask him you see only him.Is there a way when you mask to see all the things, except the things you masked?

i started on vegas yesterday and i loved it so much I completed an entire music video in it. the one in my signature.
i just found this thread though, its awesome, I wouldn't have found velocity without it. everything else I figured out myself and more, talk about effects and which blending modes do what!
for blending modes i typically use overlay and screen.

Your welcome.
Section VIII: READ
DO NOT USE XVID/DIVX FILES IN VEGAS VIDEO OR ANY VIDEO EDITING PROGRAM.
You will, in a 99.9% chance, HAVE A PLAYBACK ISSUE. So, instead, either re-encode the file in something over that xvid/divx or NOT USE THE FILE AT ALL.

Or very blocky, or it won't even play at all.
