Post by x_rex30 » Fri Jun 02, 2006 2:46 pm

This video uses Region 2 remastered versions of "Death & Rebirth" and "End of Evangelion".. it also uses the remastered footage from the series found on the Platinum Edition DVDs... so I hope you like the quality.

Software Used:
DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4
DGIndex 1.4.0
AviSynth 2.5
Vfapi v.1.05
Vegas 6.0c
VirtualDub 1.6.9
Lagarith 1.3.8
XviD 1.0.3

So please tell me how I did, any feedback is appreciated. Thanks

Some scenes are just plain cool with the motion in the images, and this 8! year old song. My god time is blowing by us...

As a whole it doesn't match with the intensity, and failed to spark any emotions in me.

I don't know how your suppose to match the intensity any better with any scenes in the entire eva series. :\ I say it's pretty good, though hearing your opinion on that aspect, I'd like to hear what others have to say about that. : ) Maybe I could of made it better in that area.. maybe a nice op maybe on what I should of done better on would be nice.. and the only emotion this is suppose to spark mainly is to be wowed by the visual quality/art/animation and action. Though I wish I could of done better to have around as good as your Experience video. ; )

You just named all my favorite emotions

I edited the op
It's all about unity, and you didn't hit it always with scene selection.

I was going to send a pm but I decided to write the op anyway. It's not my usual op but more like my overall reaction to the video with a few suggestions to give you some feedback.

This video reminds me of how much fun I had making Asuka's Last Stand...

Insane asuka never fails to bring a smile to my face. :D For working with just scene selection and not massive amounts of effects/changes I thought it was pretty good, but I have to agree that a song like this should really draw out the feelings of the viewer for its maximum effect.

The cuts themselves should have that same enraged panic that you see in the footage, though, to extend this beyond a simple cut or flash every beat takes some creativity. Lots of rotoscoping comes to mind, but that doesn't always work either. Internal sync and individual sequence of frame manipulation maybe.

Anyways, ignoring the incoherent rambling that has no solid conclusion, good video. 4/5.

Why not localize the 56 mb version?

Random Action Video ftw. Actually the editing isn't really good, not much actual sync but it works for me. The quality therefore really blew me away, good sources and good filtering I presume. Good video :).
