Your favorite editors and why.

If you wouldn't mind, I think if they influenced you in any way, you should include that.

My favorite 3 (in no order) are Bebop0083, Full Metal Sempai, and Ice_Angel.

Bebop0083: Back way before I ever made any AMVs he made the ones that I obsessed over. I always looked for others like them but there were never any. He has his own style in his vids, like speeding up and using cool image transitions a lot. He also 80% of the time his vids are fast action vids set to J-pop probably the most enjoyable to me to watch. If not for him, none of my J-pop vids would exist, since when I make them, I always say "I hope mine are good as his". Also the way he uses images a lot is probably where I picked up using images in my AMVs as well. They make a nice touch during the quick beats rather than just doing a flash every time.

Full Metal Sempai: This guy is a freaking MASTER at Windows Movie Maker. He makes the best Fullmetal Alchemist vids as far as I'm concerned. He can take subtitled clips, cut out all the subtitles (meaning he uses all the parts with no talking) and then make a 6 minute video full of great synch that never gets boring. Since I believe it isn't the program that makes AMVs good, he made me think, well he has the same program as me and he can do something that cool, I can too. He had a big influence in one of my newest videos, my Ayase one. All the flashes in it, are pretty much there because of him. I was like, "from now on, I'm going to try a bit harder in my vids like him." He was a big inspiration.

Ice_Angel: The thing I like most about her vids, are the fact that they are so incredibly original. She can take like a themesong from some weirdo cartoon show 50 years ago, and then make a Kenshin vid to it that everyone loves (even if it's subtitled) or lip synch stuff to Veggie Tales, and have it STILL be popular. It just shows that originality and your ideas matter the most, because I think all of those vids had subtitles and were lousy quality but they were still liked ANYWAY. While I still try to use good clips, it just showed that just the ideas are important and the execution. I also like her serious AMVs, such as her Soujiro one, she has some great character profile vids. But most of all, she just showed me that you can just have fun with the vids, and just do whatever YOU want to do, regardless if you think others will like it or not. So that's why a lot of my vids are just...weird, I just don't hold back.

Those 3 have probably had the biggest influence on me as an editor, and they make some great vids.

Bote - The man just kicks ass in every way imaginable.
Jebadia - Da stone cold MC of shorties! And his taste in music fucking wins.
Kamoc - Why the fuck not?!
Decoy - I'm not a fan of his style, but I respect the shitload of work he puts into his stuff.
Tyler - When your style is such that your videos are easily recognizable by name alone, this happens.

Kevin Caldwell is my #1, 2, and 3.

Legend has it that he single handedly wrestled and killed a pack of 50 wild bears with his bare hands when they attacked him from behind, during AX of '98.

How can you not respect that :amv:

The one who does almost everything I tell her to and has all the same tastes in anime and music as I do. But OMG what a bitch, and she always leaves the dishes in the sink.

This sort of topic is a little pointless - if we know you, we know who your friends are, and if we don't know you, we don't care - but it's warm and fuzzy.

You know what, though - I'm a bit of a freak because the people whose videos I watch aren't the same as the people I talk to. I watch theirs, too, but they aren't always my favorite videos. I watch a lot of stuff by total strangers. I wonder if anyone else does this. We're harmless, I promise...

I really can't say that there's an editor of whom I've loved all his works, but some editors do seem to have more videos that stand out, people like (I'll probably forget someone but meh):

1. Kevin Caldwell - Made lots of awesome revolutionary videos, esspecially for the time he was active. His videos seem a tad dated noe but some of the timings are still really awesome.
2. AbsoluteDestiny - Shameless rock video was really really awesome, and he had several other videos after that which were really original and pushing the envelope.
3. DokiDoki - The only person who made funny videos which were actually funny.

Honorable mentions:
# Scott Melzer - For making "This is DBZ life" still one of my favorites to date.
# EK - For making some awesome videos in the past with some real flair. To bad she hasn't made anything in ... forever.
# Beowulf - His video's are not always my taste per se. But I like his stance on how video's should look like: Not just another piece of disposable trash. Dead to the world was awesome aswell...
# Rozard - I don't know why, his video's are pretty simple, but somehow I really end up loving some of his stuff, it's hard to describe, it has some kind of edge that appeals to me I guess.

BTW. I don't really know any of the newer editors since I don't download as much AMV's as I would like to anymore...

My favorite edtiors:

jbone - is more artistically evolved than anyone on this site is, or ever has been. I dream one day of having the maturity he does in editing.

Vegita For President - His video are original. No one makes, or has made anything like his video. And they are awesome to boot. He has a very unique way of looking at things which is refreshing.

Flux - !

Me - I'm awesome, after all.

From what I heard he doesn't have hands, but giant mantis like arms, and the head of David Spade, and that the bears, and floating pack of angry walruses were all 20 tons each in weight, and trampled over several housing developments during the great clash.

Jbone: His videos occasionally make me burst out in laughter because how good they are, and they are not funny!

Beowulf: The confidence in his editing throws your negative opinion out the window.

They are sort of total opposites. Jbone feeds off the unexpected, and Beowulf is just plain obvious.
