Well, for one, MakeAVIS is pretty buggy to begin with. If you're editing in WMM2, I wouldn't use that method.

I'm going to go on the assumption that you currently have an AVS file (or several) for your source. The resulting video of that AVS file is:

1) Deinterlaced
2) Resized
3) At either 23.976, 24, or 29.97fps

Your best bet for editing with WMM2 is to make Huffyuv clips. This is covered in the guides, and you might already know how to do this, but I'll go ahead and explain here.

1) Import your AVS file into VDub.
2) Go up to Video > Compression. Set the codec to Huffyuv v2.1.1 (you should have this, assuming you downloaded the AMVapp), and click OK. You can use the default settings for the codec.
3) Scrub (scroll) to the scene that you want to edit with (or rather, the scene you want to use in WMM).
4) At the first frame of the scene, set an In point (the button at the bottom with the little black arrow pointing left), then scrub to the last frame of that scene, and set the Out point (arrow pointing right).
5) Go to File > Save As.., give it a name (like, "Mercury punches dude.avi"), and Save. It should do a pretty quick encode (encoding to Huffyuv from VDub without any complex filters going on typically goes pretty quickly).

Then just repeat steps 3-5 for each scene you need. You can just keep WMM and VDub open at the same time and switch back and forth whenever you need a new scene.

Hopefully this helps you.

Thanks! That sounds really easy to do, too. Thanks a bunch!
