MAS PRODUCTIONS wrote:The symbol itself is the kanji for "ban" as in "ban kai". It has the same meaning for Neji's symbol on his forehead. Ban has several meanings including "evening" "to guard or to watch". the word bankai can have the meaning "to restore" but in the instance of Bleach Ban means something similiar to the american word for prohibit. From "shi kai" (Initial release) to "ban kai" (blocked or prohibited release).

There is actually a difference in asian use of the symbol (they call it manji) and the swastica. The directions are different. Manji is pointed left while the swastica is pointed right and is often at an angle of 45 degrees.

Manji:

Nazi Swastica:

The Sharigan symbol itself is also a reference to japanese culture just like Sasuke's cursed seal design. It is the design using three tomoe. Its often used in family crests and often for the use of Ten or "heaven", hence the seal Sasuke has is the Ten no juin (Heavenly Cursed Seal). The symbols are similiar in the Sharigan.

Personally I don't seem them as three sixes, rather I see three comma's.
Manji (or Sauwastika) is one symbol, the Swastika is another. They respectively represent the moon and the sun and the only difference is the way they face. The German National-Socialist party took the Swastika and tilted it 45 degrees to create their icon.

Or at least that's what I read. Anyways, it sucks that a religious symbol is more widely associated with killing jews than anything else. Just like the KKK outfits. They're actually derived from the garnment used by priests of a Christian sect from Spain.
And God spoke unto the Chicken, and He said: "Thou shalt crosseth the road", and the Chicken did cross the road, and there was much rejoicing.
