Post by angelx03 » Sun Jul 02, 2006 8:43 am

Mmmm, licensing announcements! I find them exciting since it leads for more anime titles being available, and I hope it increase the anime fans' variety in their collection (or if they want to repent downloading fansubs). 8-)

Industry panals should start around this afternoon, and this is usually the period where they announce more titles. So stay tuned!

Here are the title licenses already made this year:

Prince of Tennis*
Densha Otoko the movie (live-action)

*These titles are supposedly going to be part of Toonami's Jetstream which Viz is a part of

FUNimation
Full Metal Panic: the Second Raid
BECK
Black Cat
Witchblade
Origin ~ Spirit of the Past ~ (Gonzo's first featured film)

Manga Entertainment

I guess Max Payne isn't much of a yaoi fan...

For now, ADV got license of Nerima Daikon Brothers which is a new comedy series directed by Excel Saga's Shinichi Watanabe.

Also in regards of Full Metal Panic: the Second Raid, ADV will handle the entire production and English dubbing so all your favorite English VAs (like Chris Patton and Monica Rial) will reclaim their roles. FUNimation will just handle marketing it.

Oooo, old school mech fans might like these licenses. :D

Bandai Visual USA got Gainax's classic mech series Gunbuster, and they have Wings of Rean which is supposedly a spinoff of Yoshiyuki Tomino's Aura Battler Dunbine.

FINALLY! I've been waiting for this for a long time (4+ years). I was sick of Manga's continuous promises of a release and then nothing until they lost the license. Are there any details about it yet (ie, the original telecine or the remastered one, the full-color, unletterboxed ep 6 that the R2 Remastered Edition had, etc.)?

Another license from ADV. They got Pani Poni Dash!

For the love of God, this series NEEDS those ADVid Notes as this series is ridiculously psychotic. If you thought Excel Saga or FLCL was insane, you haven't seen NOTHING. Heck, it's been hailed as Azumanga Daioh on CRACK!!!
