My only concern is that some people won't consider it an AMV since it's like a teaser for a movie, which would be a shame because it really is good.
Well except for that bit that uses Mr. Epcar's voice and might possibly DQ it
Have to see what reviewers said though. I'm usually a hardliner when it comes to the rules, but for just one word?.... as far as I know we ARE allowing Tim's video, so why not yours right?
At least that's how I feel.
(the lawyer is going to have a field day with us me thinks)
I think DW is just in shock cause a lot of the entries were very good this year (and after he was told it all sucked). God forbid Westbrook was right about something lol.
Upbeat was the only thing that fell short this year I think. Just not a lot there.
ANYWAY, I'm going to make a prediction and say that the most complaining people do about the contest this year will come out of what happens with Upbeat. One way or another the category will likely need to be filled out more (which means moving some videos around) and I KNOW that's going to brush some folks the wrong way. Then again if we leave it as it is, Upbeat having less competing submissions than other category will also annoy people.
Oh yes... I can't wait for the fun to begin!
Yeah yeah I know most of you hate me... I'm going.

Really? cause it sounds exactly like the Dub.Black Sun Productions wrote:well technically i pulled that sound bite from the japanese version.....
I'll have to play the DVD and listen to both (I've only ever watched GITS dubbed).
Either way I don't see it as a big problem, but did want to point is out as reviewers were told to look out for that sort of thing.
Could you tell me what mic you were using for recording your voice?
Model and type? I need to get a new mic and right now I'm looking at the AKG Perception 200, but I liked the sound you were getting so I was curious.

Well whatever was used it sounded pretty good.Black Sun Productions wrote:actually that's not my voice. I had one of my World of Warcraft buddies record his voice from his computer and email the sound files to me. So I have no idea what kind of mic he uses. In any case, I had to run his voice overs through Adobe Audition 1.5 to clean it up.
That reminds me, I need to get Audition on my Notebook. Or maybe Sonar or Cubase.... whatevers better.

First off for being "the better man and avoiding confrontation" you sure do the opposite a lot!hackerzc wrote:I think DW is just in shock cause a lot of the entries were very good this year (and after he was told it all sucked). God forbid Westbrook was right about something lol.
Anyway, I made no comment about the quality of the contest out of respect for everyone who entered. I have my opinion which I will keep to myself, but if you really think you're that right, go for it!
As for my sanity, watching that many AMVs at one time will drive anyone insane.
