I don't know about that, I hear the novel Crest of the Stars (Seikai no Monshou) was based on has been licensed. If that series can fair well it might just inspire publishers to bring other novels over.
As to other unofficial translations of the Haruhi books, A.F.K.'s already finished the first book and has started on the second. He is working straight Japanese > English. I personally have had no problem with either translation group and tend to be happy with whichever.

I'm almost tempted to try MUGEN myself.

Hm... there is another hidden Mikuru picture on the official website.

So far, I haven't found a link anywhere to access this pic directly from the site... it's not even on the hidden Mikuru pics page....

The irony I think is, when Mikuru uses her beam, and Yuki straddles her to the floor, does anyone know that Mikuru's beam is the real deal and almost killed the cameraman?

According to the novel readers...
...yeah, that was the real deal. I also heard something along the lines of Yuki "biting" into Mikuru in order to prevent her from using it ever again.
I know the first part is right.

Coffee's Patent Pending Super Spoiler Shield wrote:No, no biting, she just removes the colored contact lens Suzumiya gave her. I believe the principle, all Haruhi's reasoning, is that time travelers can only fire laser beams when their eyes are different colors. Disposing of the lens, therefore, pervents that particular incident from happening again.

Asuka, er, Haruhi FTW.

I was a little disappointed after they mentioned Sleeping Beauty. The original story had a lot more than just a kiss.
