Will YouTube go down?

I guess what scares me is how fast y o u tube has become so popular and how sloppily the whole site is handled.
And as for theft of AMVs- when you find yourself in an ongoing debate with a theif who is arguing that you are not the creator of your own video (and that rather you are the thief yourself), you begin to appreciate true detest for y o u tube. Granted that can happen on a-m-v.org too, but it's just too disturbingly common on y o u tube.
It's an interesting thought that Google could just take over the whole mess...but then again, Google is bound to conquer the entire galaxy...
Ahhh, the way of the future.

I cant upload "Shattered" because of coppywrite infringement... me and Rina even said "whatever" and "gave persmission" to the person that had uploaded it originally, but the file has been flagged and as a WMV it cannot be uploaded "Status: Rejected (terms of use violation)" is what it tells me...aielI_Ileia wrote:http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... hp?t=61573Kionon wrote:Has anyone complained to Y o u tube that one of their videos was taken and should be removed? I haven't checked to see if this has occured with me recently, but I did check before I uploaded all of my videos myself to beat everyone else to the punch.
but as for "beating people to the punch" O.o
http://www.youtube.com/results?search=w ... rch=Search
dont think that works ever... if they are too lazy to search for it themselves they will upload it themselves O.o

I have a question...
Who in their right mind would go to youtube to watch entire episodes of things? It's 2006, we escaped the RealVideo grade bootlegs around Y2K! Why are we going BACK to that? It can't even do full screen!
I know people who actually use youtube to get fansubs, I had to teach a few of them how BitTorrent worked! >_<

My backyard theory of website dependence:DJ_Izumi wrote:Who in their right mind would go to youtube to watch entire episodes of things? It's 2006, we escaped the RealVideo grade bootlegs around Y2K! Why are we going BACK to that? It can't even do full screen!
People who aren't very familiar with the internet sometimes become dependent on the few sites that they are familiar with, and don't realize that there's more than one way to get what they want. Say, people who have ever only searched with Yahoo and refuse to try Google for anything because That's Just What They Know. There are people who basically never leave MySpace or LiveJournal. There are people who expect to host live-action videos on an animation site because they don't understand that other websites exist that are better suited to their purpose.
That's what they're comfortable with. The internet is big and full of porn. Or wolves. You don't want to stray outside the path.
YT is one of those gateway-drug sites, I think - people get cozy there and don't understand how to look for things except within its confines. They assume that it has everything and can do everything for them, always.
I don't mean to sound too down on them. I kind of feel sorry for them.

let me add to that:
alot of them are afraid of "bittorrent" stuff because it has viruses or "arent allowed to use it because its their dad's computer" or are "afraid to install some weird program" or go to school and are using the school's computer that has it firewalled or some other kind of excuse.... therefore their only video entertainment is streaming
