Somebody tell me what to watch...

Post by greenjinjo » Wed Jul 19, 2006 7:03 pm

So I'm looking to start watching a new series, but I haven't been keeping up with the latest stuff. To give you an idea of what I'm looking for, here are the last three series I've watched, keeping in mind that I enjoyed all three very much.

Onegai Twins
Live-Action GTO
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Any suggestions would be awesome, something funny, maybe sci-fi. Thanks

Hmm, I would definately check out Gokusen.

It's got a GTO feel, but is completely different. Watch the anime though, like GTO it ALSO has a live action version, but I would suggest the anime, it's only 13 episodes.

If you're looking for something hilarious, try Excel Saga.

Oh God, someone actually liked Onegai Twins? The anime club on campus ran that, and other than the perverts who normally attend the meetings, I was watching it as a potential drinking game (one shot for every time they say "we might be related...").

"The Melody of Oblivion" is alright, but I'm finding I'm addicted to "Black Lagoon".

I've heard Salaryman Kentaro was sorta GTO/Goldenboyish, might be something to check out.

Ok I should have rephrased, I liked Live Action GTO and Haruhi Suzumiya very much, and didn't mind Onegai Twins. I never thought of it as a drinking game..... though that's not a bad idea

Mj, Excel Saga is at the top of my list already

And very good, I'll look into all of your suggestions!

If you've got pacience, give Texhnolyzle a go. It's similar to Hiabane-Renmei's style, in that nothing much happens till half way through the series where things heat up nicely. However other than that it's nothing like haibane-renmie.
