Do you live in Japan or something?

Some DVD releases (such as Utena, Excel Saga, Puni Puni Poemy, and the original Evangelion release) actually do have hardcoded subtitles.
Yeah, that makes me sad. In the scene where Shinji and Asuka are in Asuka's Eva in Episode 5, the have hard subbed it. So annoying...

If he watches a lot of fansubs, he could easily watch a lot of anime that isn't out in his native country yet. A lot of the popular stuff does eventually get translated, but heck, even if you're doing a Naruto vid, theres a lot that isn't avaliable yet.

The poster did not include those words. He said the DVDs don't exist.

If it's a brand new series, yea, that's true. But most stuff's out on DVD by the time it hits episode 12 or so... The 1st DVD that is. Remember, R2s are DVDs too.

That may be what he said, but I doubt that's what he meant. You're as pedantic as I am, aren't you?

Quite possibly, but buying R2s is always an option and always should be considered.

So's satellite internet ;) Doesn't mean it's a reasonable option for everybody, or even the majority.

Touche. But it still should be considered over breaking the law. At least in a public forum.

Don't pay any atttention to me. I'm so used to throwing qualifiers in anything I say so that nobody can ever say i'm wrong either way that I tend to notice these things.

Well, I'm not going to disagree with you on that point, especially since The Powers The Be frown upon that sort of talk.

Uh, what were we talking about again?
