Little Annoying Vegas 6 problem?
I'm trying out the vegas 6 trial version and eveything seems really nice.. I really like this software.. I've used ulead videostudio 10 before and liked it also.. but vegas 6 seems to be really easy... but.. I have a little annoying vegas 6 problem..
I seem to right-click videos or audio clips and when I go to an option where it has a sub-menu.. you know with the >.. It seems to be invisible.. I can see the outline of the box but not whats in it.. I have to roll my mouse over all the options as they appear one-by-one.. this also happens when I click the options at the top and they have sub-menus...
I can't really understand if it's an error in the software.. or my system can't load it right (now vegas 6 works SUPERB.. nothing at all is wrong with it.. so I don't think it's my system)
I'm hoping someone knows something about this.. I've googled it and went from page to page trying to find what the problem is but I don't see anything explaining my problem.. I have...
Sony Vegas
Version: 6.0d (build 210)
If anyone can shine some light on this.. That would be great!.. and Thanks!

Its because you're using the TRIAL VERSION.

Are you sure?.. because that seems odd that it does that.. doesn't SOUND like a TRIAL VERSION thing...
Please Note: This trial version will allow you to use all product features for 30 days, except for HDV and DVD Handycam capture, and export to certain formats that require third-party licensing (i.e. MPEG, MP3, and AC-3).
that doesn't say that when I go to a sub-menu that my other options will be invisible (maybe I should clarify that a bit... the sub-menu IS NOT grayed out.. it is INVISIBLE like I can see the outline of the sub-menus box but not the options within it UNLESS I roll my mouse over each option)
If someone that KNOWS why it's doing this, will help a bit.. it would be greatly appreciated
Ladymercury: I am not saying that what you said was wrong.. but the fact that it (trial version note) doesn't say that sub-menus will be invisible (by what I mean invisible.. I mean not grayed out).. I know enough about computers that I think it's an error in the program or more likely in my system.. and was wondering if someone knew how to resolve it.. but thanks for the post!

Question, afer you've rolled over it with your mouse can you click on it? Cuz that happens to me randomly on pretty much every program on my computer, but after I move my mouse over it, I can click on it. If you can still click on it, theres nothing wrong, It'll eventually fix it self, and for sure if you restart your computer. Just remember to save your project.

First, Thank you for replying!.. Anywho
Yeah.. basically the outline of the sub-menu box I can see, when I roll over it, the words show up either grayed or solid, and I can click on them.. nothing wrong there.. I might need to restart my computer, might help..
But also to note I have to always do it.. so.. when the sub-menu goes away (like click another option or click the screen, like you normally would to get rid of the options when you right click) and I go back to check it again, it's invisible again..
I haven't really had any problem with my other programs doing this so I wasn't sure what to think (I do recall seeing it in another program, but I can't really recall that well).. also to note it's done this from the beginning.. in other words.. it didn't just start doing this...
Thanks for the reply and just working with the program for a while might help like you said.. Thanks!
P.S: I remember restarting, I think.. but that might be it, not really sure but might be.. if so.. thats just a stupid on my part..

If you continue to have the problem uninstall it and reinstall it again. If its legit you won't have problems contacting sony tech support.

like I said, it's the TRIAL version.. so unless the trial version is illegal.. I'm all good.. ..
I simply, other than bothering with tech support, ask the nice people here.. than, wait on a reply from them that might take a few weeks or days... I've emailed plenty of tech people for help and never got a reply or got the "Run About".. no I haven't contacted sonys tech.. YET.. but if my problem can't be fixed here.. then I'd have to contact tech support..
P.S: Yes, if my problem continues I might just try and reinstall the program.. which might help! Thanks
UPDATE*
I just restarted my computer to make sure that it wasn't that.. and it wasn't that.. it's still doing it!..

Since you don't have a full version and the trial version the only option for you IS to uninstall and reinstall. There isn't much someone can do for a limited program as Vegas 6 trial.

Actually.. if you read the above from someone.. then you would see that it's a problem with almost any program can have.. it happened to Digitalmaster3605 with other programs.. like Digitalmaster3605 stated.. the conclusion was to try and continue working with the program and it will go away...
and also to note.. yes someone can.. if someone simply tells me that when they installed vegas 6 trial or the full one, that it done the same thing as I described above, then that would tell me that something might be wrong with the trial version I obtained or.. just a regular error that some people get...
But if someone says thier copy did not do this, that I described, then I can say that it might just be my system..
Also, someone might know the cause of this.. obviously it happened to Digitalmaster3605 with other programs, maybe someone knows (not for this program, but maybe for another program) how to fix it.. I'm sure their are some people that had this complication other than Digitalmaster3605.. I am willing to run the program and play with it for a while to see if Digitalmaster3605's conclusion works...
While I am doing this though, I would still like to know if someone had problems like this.. with this or any program, and how him/her fixed it... Thanks!
P.S: I might just reinstall and see if that might help.. like Ladymercury said.. then give an update..
