The 5th frame!!!

I'm having a problem with one of the animes that I want to use for an AMV. My problem is that no matter what I do to try and get this F*@# anime to deinterlace, I still get those horizontal lines that come up whenever there is some kind of action going on. The anime is Teknoman (not a very well known anime), and it seems to be a set that was transferred from VHS to DVD.... poorly.

I was wondering if there was a way that I could delete every #th frame to take care of this problem, that was I can keep using the video and not worry too much about it looking bad. If there are any other suggestions, I'm all ears.

What have you been using to deinterlace it, and are the fields in the unprocessed video clean?

use chopper xp to give a sample if you can. And it should be easy to get rid of.. i haven't ran into a dvd yet that i couldn't get rid of those lines.. even old sources. if you use avisynth.. you could be lazy and always just put the script

FieldDeinterlace()

that always works.. will cause some blending but not noticeable to the naked eye in motion. Then there is always the Inverse Telecining method if needed. Send a copy of the DVD and maybe me or someone else could get a look at it.

have you tried running a deinterlace filter in vdub?
you can delete single frames in vdub, but you would be better off selecting them, and using the masking option.
i don't think theres any kind of batching for this though, so you would have to do it all yourself.
i'll assume you don't wanna do that :/

The script that I've been using the basically the same as in VicBond007's guide. I haven't been able to download any new filters yet because of school and work, but both of my vids have been done with just that basic script. I'm still trying to learn how to use some of the other filters out there in order to make my clips a little more clear.

Decimate(5,mode=0)
KernelBob(order=1,sharp=true,threshold=8)
BlendBob(badFrames=0)
deen("a3d",4)

This worked for me on stubborn footage.

My go-to deinterlacing suggestion has been TIVTC for a while now. Just using TFM will deinterlace, you can add TDecimate to perform an IVTC.

Usually, I use this setting:
TFM(order=-1,mode=5,PP=7,field=-1,slow=2)

Even though I specifically set those options to use for RahXephon, it works amazingly well on, pretty much everything I've tried it with. The only trade-off is that it's slow. Of course, my computer is 5 years old, so take that as you will.
